I saw a video. As I said, it could be a post-apocalyptic version. With all those botomless pits, Yoshi skeletons, and undead enemies, I guess a war happened and the area drastically changed.

Or many Yoshi's in the past tried to colonize there and the Koopas killed them.

Why that ? Yoshis are extremely pacific (except when they carry a crybaby on their back : D). They could have just went there to say hello but they wouldn't have been killed then.

You don't know that for sure. For all we know, the previous Koopa King could've been the "Ivan the Terrible" of the Mushroom World.

He could have just wanted them off of his land

Maybe it's not an alternate reality, but rather, an Illusion made by Kamek in an attempt to frighten Yoshi into giving up. That makes sense, and I always imagined Bowser occupying the Island for its Natural Resources, but I could be wrong.

Bowser wanted the oil that comes from dead Yoshis so in a way, yes he did want resources.

Or maybe it's just Dark Land.

Okay moving on...
According to the screens that I have seen for MKDS one of the racetracks will be WUHU Island from Wii Sports Resort. Do you think that it is part of the ME?

Well, I guess it would mean that Miis are a ME species then, right?

Nope. It is also on the planet of the Miis (see Wii Party, they have their own planet) and probably on Earth. I'd say Wuhu Island is the same place but is on every planet that has habitation. It'd be the same island but at different places at the same time due to some kind of worm hole, kind of like how Forest Maze and the Lost Woods are presumaly linked.

Maybe miis are just a poorly rendered representation of humans.

Mario, people from Diamond City, etc... don't look like Miis at all. Miis seem to be a variant of humans, or rather a sub-species.
Also, I was a bit wrong. The planet of the Miis IS Earth. But before the world was destroyed, or rather the planet was frozen (see MOTHER 3 and Kirby 64), and Samus' appearance in both the Kirby and Mario series prove both series happen around the same time, and Olimar's ship being lost in space in SMG1 leads to think the Mario series happen in a very far future, but Wuhu Island seems to be intact in both times, so I'll say that the island is protected from anything, similarly to the Nowhere Islands. Maybe because it's in its own pocket dimension yet appears at multiple places in the same world.

Or portals to Wuhu island don't bring them to Wuhu Island at their own dimension's time, but at the time of the Miis

Then Wuhu Island would be a place stuck between dimensions and times.

Kind of like the World of Trophies, but it could be true.

For now, the World of Trophies is only in a child's mind. Not only it's pretty much official, but our theories won't change things that are (pretty much) official.
