I recently began working on a Map of ME, but I thought it would be better if I could get some of you to help make it a Collaberative effort. Also, if everyone contributes, the Map could be used as a reference in future threads. Let's start by just working on The Mushroom Kingdom though, okay? Now, I think we should start by discussing the Deserts of the Kingdom. Are they all Connected? Are they spread out across the Land? Where are they in relation to Mushroom Castle?
I'll start with my Theory, "All of the Deserts(Except for the Gritzy Desert) are apart of one, big Region in the South-Eastern portion of the Kingdom(Appropriately titled DryDry Desert), that is watched over by the DryDry King from his Palace in Desert Hill, East of DryDry Outpost(The Capital)" Because this is a Collab Effort we need to hear each others opinions, and find out what works Best. Oh, I almost forgot, "Are the Nimbus Kingdom and Sky Land different nations, or One? Please explain your Answer!" I think they are the same Kingdom, moving in a circular path(With the Wind) around tMK.

I think we should do something better. Everyone that has its version of the map posts it here, and we'll eventually judge which maps to mix, which ones to ignore, etc.
It'd be a better reference, as everyone would have worked on it and approved it, and it'd have been more of a collaborative effort than a "I do everything, just give me some help".
What do you think of this ?

What do you think of this ? That was sort of the Original intent, though I never said anything about making the Map myself. I wanted to include things we can agree on, and try to meet in the middle on things we don't. I just figured it would be easier to Start by discussing the Geography, but everybody is free to contribute a Map, if they so choose!

Well, I'll post mine because it'd be too hard to explain (for me).
... Wait, look on TMK already. I'm too lazy to post it.

Don't forget what makes the MK so interesting is that it's an awfully rugged land with many, many different climates near the same place. It is thus a possibilty that there are multiple deserts, although I accidentaly discovered on my map that the "polar" levels are all on the same place (but Iced Land, obviously).
Here are all the maps of the MK (more precisely):
SUPER MARIO BROS. (very north parth of the kingdom):

Do we really know if Desert Hill in SMB3 is part of the Mushroom Kingdom? I'm not trying to tear down anyone's own theories, but I assumed that it (and the other lands as well) were all seperate kingdoms, hence why each one has it's own king.

I'm not trying to tear down anyone's own theories, but I assumed that it (and the other lands as well) were all seperate kingdoms, hence why each one has it's own king. I developed the Theory that at least World's 1, 2, 3, 6, and maybe 7 were apart of the Mushroom Kingdom. Think about Sarrasaland, it is made up of 4 "Kingdoms" even though it, in itself is only 1 "Real" Kingdom. Because of this, I made the assumption that every Kingdom has it's own regions that are sometimes referred to as Kingdoms, because the overseer's have King-like Power, within their own Region, and they answer only to the Monarch of the Mushroom Kingdom itself. I personally don't see any reason not to consider All of them(Minus Sky Land, Dark Land and maybe Giant Land, of course!) Also, Desert Hills was featured as a Race Track in MKDS(I think), of course this doesn't mean anything, but because the Big N will probably never release Desert Hill in a game again(Under that name, Anyway) It's fair game for fans to speculate it's Greater Location.

What the hell happened to my message ? My Internet connection died while I was posting it. I changed my mind anyway, I won't post it.
However I think "Sarasaland" is referring to the collection of those 4 kingdoms, with Daisy ruling over them. And I think "Mushroom World" is referring to the collection of SMB3's 8 kingdoms (not counting Bowser's Castle).

Hypothetically speaking, if my Theory was true(Again, speaking Hypothetically) then there would be 4 Deserts in the known Mushroom Earth. Birabuto Desert(Sarrasa Land), TeeHee Valley Desert(BeanBean Kingdom), DryDry Desert(Mushroom Kingdom) and Gritzy Desert(Mushroom Kingdom). As for Arctic regions in tMK(Not the Mushroom Earth, just MK) I think that they exist in the Northernmost part of the Kingdom, except for Iced Land which is an Island.

Did you have the "Lands" in SMB3 listed as Separate Nations or apart of the Mushroom Kingdom. P.S.I read most of your SMB3 comic and loved it. Keep up the good Work! EDIT:I remember seeing that Map, it's really well done!

I always thought that all of them were a part of tMK(Minus Dark Land), but after playing through SMRPG on VC, I think that Sky Land is the Nimbus Kingdom. I also think that about World 7 from NSMB and NSMBWii.

New Theory:In the Mushroom Kingdom, they refer to continents as "Lands". This would also explain why Sarrasaland only has one Government, because it's a Nation & Continent(Like Australia), though, Jewelry Land is probably just a Kingdom(i.e. It's too small to be a continent), and Mario Land is just Mario's private Island. The only thing I can find wrong is the size, and lack of sentient beings on Dinosaur Land. Is it really continent size? Possibly. And maybe other Sentient beings live their(Besides Yoshis). What do you guys think? Is my theory good, or just stupid? Do you have any Theories? Let me know what you think?

But the "land" names of SMB3 were only made for the US version. Originally the only "land" places are Grass Land, Jewerly Land, (somewhat) Iced Land and Mario Land. Additionally Yoster Island is a piece of continent (a.k.a. island) yet it's not named Yoshi Land. Same goes for Dolphic Island / Delfino Isle.
However, if you were thinking about big continents (like Africa) then you're still wrong, SMG2 proved there were only 4 "big" continents.

Let's count them: Mushroom Land(Mushroom-BeanBean continent), Sarrasaland/Sarrasa Land, and Dinosaur Land(Yoshi's Island continent)! That's three, so how am I wrong? Perhaps there is one we haven't seen in a game yet? But that doesn't prove me wrong.

Look at the MW from the World Selection screen in SMG2. You clearly see a Africa-ish shaped continent on the north hemisphere near the north polar zone (100% sure it's where the Mushroom Kingdom is located), a banana-ish shaped continent on the equator line, a continent on the north polar zone and a continent on the south polar zone. We don't know if Sarasaland is located on another continent than the Mushroom Kingdom's, Dinosaur Land (actually known as Dinosaur Island) is too small to be a continent and... that's all. We also don't know where Wario lives.
