This is kinda off-topic, but...
How many of you remember the first boss in Diddy Kong Racing? It was Tricky the Dinosaur, who may actually be a link to Starfox.
As some of you may know, Starfox Adventures wasn't always a Starfox game. Originally, it was a sequel/prequel to DKR. This carried over when it became SA, since there is a young dinosaur in it by the name of Tricky.
Want even more proof, SA Tricky's dream is to be the first Dinosaur in space.
So, if you say DKRDS is canon, (As ports/remakes overule originals) you have an unintenional prequel.
Thoughts?

Nah, I think that's just a cameo put in by Rare. There's no connection.

You people may get mad, but I still think the WarioWare series is on Earth. I have a better reason now. The boss microgame of Wario in WarioWare: Smooth Moves says "Wario's trying to conquer Earth!". In case you forgot, it's that microgame where you must beat a Wario robot with a fan.

Hmm, but, you know, the word "Mushroom World" hasn't been seen inside games, either, just in guides and the like. Maybe they call their planet Earth, because we already know they call their moon the Moon like we do, and their sun the Sun. (There's also "an earth" as analogue to "a moon" and "a sun". It's quite possible. Most of them say something like "the world", but we've never seen a name.) Also, you've got one word from a minigame description versus the extreme unrealism of the entire series.

In Paper Mario, a Boo that talks about Star Pieces says ""There are hidden panels on the ground all over Mushroom World, so keep an eye out for them." So "Mushroom World" IS the name of the planet.
And the series is very unrealistic but the same goes for games like the MOTHER series or POKéMON, yet they're set on Earth too.

So you basically have a "proof" that Wario Ware is set on earth and a "proof" that the inhabitants of Mushroom World wouldn't call their planet Earth, both resting on tiny details? When I play Mario games, I get the impression they're not supposed to say the name of their planet, always saying "our world" or similar things. I can imagine "Earth" would be a synonym for that. See, our moon and sun are called the Moon and the Sun because they were the first moon and sun that humanity knew, and the generic names became the proper names. Who says the Mushroom Worlders can't use the generic name for their own planet, especially since they almost never say the proper name anyway?

I base myself on tiny things because that's the only way we can "Mariologize". It's by tiny details that we know Blocks are floating due to some antigravity ray, Wario World happens in the sky of Wario's planet (from Wario Land 1), and Kamek is a single character.
And I can't see the link between the Mushroom Worlders calling their planet "Earth" and Diamond City being on the MW.

Why are we assuming that the Mushroom Planet even has a proper name in Mushroom-Common? We didn't have a need for "Earth" as a proper name before discovering/inventing other planets, and most languages' words for "Earth" are kludges - Semitic languages use "land, ground", Sinosphere languages use "ground-ball", and so on. They probably used a kludge like that too after discovering the existence of aliens.

Yes, a block is being worked on with some ray in the block lab, but the purpose is never stated. Maybe it's an analyzing ray. I never said there's a link, I just said that I can't believe Diamond City is on Earth, and that I think it's pretty probable the people of Mushroom World might use "Earth" as a generic name for their planet. As sarisa said, maybe the Boo was just very educated and the others have no need to know the official name of the planet, or don't use it. It's like calling a cat "felis silvestris catus".

My assumption was that "Mushroom World" was a catch-all term for the Mushroom Kingdom and it's surrounding colonies (i.e. the SMB3 worlds, the areas from SMRPG, etc.) and not the name of the entire planet. Calling the planet "Earth" is convenient enough, and coming up with an actual name for it would just fling Mario into idiotically complex Tolkien-esque fantasy territory.
