Isn't that what's stated in the SMB manual?? And if you count the game Donky Kong, doesn't that game take place in Brooklyn? Maybe Mario wasn't born there, but it sure seems like he was there at some point in time.

Actually, in the Donkey Kong Land manual, it states that the final world (Big Ape City) is the site of the original DK Arcade.

And the SMB manual only says that "Mario and Luigi heard of the Mushroom Kingdom's problems and came to help" or something. What is sure is that it was never (originally) stated that Mario had any connection to Earth.

After doing some more Research, I've concluded that Mother 3 happens no more than a few Years after EarthBound(Mother 2), and is NOT Post-apocalyptic! So Ness is probably alive(And still in his early Teens) while Mother 3 is happening!

Well, than I got something wrong, seeing as I'm sure Leder mentions people destroyed their own world, leaving the Nowhere Islands as the only safe haven for the remainder of the human (and Mr. Saturn) population. The people in New Pork City (minus the ones originally from Tazmily) were all brought there by Pokey/Porky.

I remember seeing a Quote that someone(I think it was the Mayor) said "In the End of the World the Nowhere Isles will be the only Safe place", which I think was a pun on it's Name, because it's in the middle of Nowhere!

It's called the Nowhere Isles, and you'll be safe there during the End of the World, because it's in the middle of Nowhere. It's sort-of like a Joke!

Basically, the world was "destroyed" (how and why is unknow, but it is a possibility the planet falled in a nuclear winter while most of the humanity didn't survived the war that happened right before) but the Nowhere Island is protected by its magic and thus wasn't affected by whatever happened. Additionally, in the beta version, you could see a destroyed version of Onett (maybe that there was supposed to be a cutscene showing the world's freezing ?).
So, yeah, MOTHER 3 definitely happens very long after MOTHER 2.

I don't recall, but even so, the manuals Canonicity is arguable! As for the games, Mario Bros. was based on the New York City Sewer System, but thats a long shot from being set there! So my original statement stands true, "None of the Games Support the Brooklyn theory"! Some people say Donkey Kong happened in New York City while some people say it happened in Big Ape City. (Donkey Kong Land isn't a canon game, it was just a port with a few changed things and a different story that really was just a huge fourth wall breaker) So I go with New York City and it makes sense. (Wrecking Crew happened on a New York Construction Site after Mario gt fired from his job as a carpenter. Mario and Luigi became plumbers and while they were exploring the New York Sewer System they entered a warp pipe that led to the Mushroom Kingdom Sewer System.) |

Donkey Kong Land's story isn't just a fourth wall reference. Taking the fourth wall thing away, it still works. Cranky, thinking DK didn't do enough things, call K. Rool and asks him to steal DK's bananas again. Sure, it was a port, but it's still material approved by Nintendo anyway. And the GB version of Donkey Kong proved the game happens on the Mushroom World.

It says that the area should seem familiar, but the orignal DK never even WENT to to the construction site where the events of Donkey Kong happened. I think that Big Ape City is the place where the last areas of DK 94 happened (the last areas were supposed to be on ME)

Or rather that:
- World 0 : Construction site in Big Ape City, DK Island
- World 1 (city) : Big Ape City, DK Island
- World 2 (forest) : A forest on the east side of DK Island
- World 3 (ship) : A ship sailing between DK Island and an unknow island
- World 4 (jungle) : A jungle of that unknow island
- World 5 (desert) : A desert of that unknow island
- World 6 (airplane) : An airplane that was flying near the desert's pyramid, and Mario jumps to fall on...
- World 7 (iceberg) : An iceberg near the planet's north pole
- World 8 (mountains) : Mountains at the north of the continent
- World 9 (tower) : Donkey (Cranky) Kong's tower, in World 1-1 of SMB
And Wrecking Crew becomes non-canon. For now, Mario has only been a carpenter and a plumber. If the Dr. Mario series is not canon (Peach being a nurse instead of a princess ? Mario suddently being a doctor ?) the same can apply to games like Mario's Cement Factory or Wrecking Crew.

Guys, DKL wasn't a port at all. It had entirely new levels and a semi-new story. I don't really know where you get the idea that idea from.

KoopalmierI think Dr.Mario is Canon, just think of ME like an Anime! Mario finds out there is a Virus(or 3) going around Toad Town, so he rips his Overalls off, only to reveal a Lab Coat and Princess Peach pulling off her Dress to reveal a Nurses Outfit(In True Anime Style)! Mario's Trophy in Brawl says he has the Intelligence of a Physician, and Peach could have helped him(Like a Nurse helps a Doctor). I don't see any reason NOT to consider them Canon! Also, guys, Mario and DK where Born in tMK, and lived their, and the Events of Donkey Kong took place there(More specifically, Mushroom City)! DKL took place in Big Ape City, but it is a Remake, and should NOT be Canon!

Heck, it's not even a remake anyway. It's a semi-sequel. And approved material, with that.
And the Mario games, although being Japanese, aren't that kind of things. You know why ? The hero is a freakin' midget plumber. In the type of animes you're thinking about, the hero doesn't even have a moustache or dreams about food. Really, one of the reasons Mario is awesome is that he's not awesome at all, in a way. He physicially rocks though. But him coming out of nowhere dressed as a doctor and saying "I'll save you all ! I have teh skillz !" wouldn't match with the character.
Oh, and did I mention the games (not counting Dr Mario) never mention him as a doctor ? You have the tuna... err, whale in Paper Mario saying "You should be called Dr. Mario!" but that's only a reference, and in M&L3 you see the only clinic in the MK... and you see Mario doesn't work there.

Sorry, I meant DK'94, but I accidentally put DKL(Donkey Kong Land). Mario is not a real Dr., just smart enough to be one, so he uses his Intelligence to help the Mushroom Kingdom!

But in the Dr. Mario series he's a ~ real ~ doctor, not just some intelligent guy dressed as a doctor.
And DK94 is much more than a remake. It's like the "full" version of the original story.

Dr. Mario is a clone of Mario that is more intelligent and physically more powerful. Whether or not he has retired by now, I don't know
