YIDS defiantly happened before Partners in Time. (everyone looks younger) Wario and DK's ages don't matter since the weren't in PiT. I don't really see the problem...

I guess I see a problem because the quality of the storytelling sucks. Seriously, those cutscenes look like they're from a 5-out-of-10 MFGG fangame.
That's the same reason Hotel Mario isn't canon! It's not because it wouldn't "fit", it's because the game and story is horrible. Same goes here.

I kinda liked Yoshi's Island DS. Hotel Mario isn't non-canon because it's horrible, it's non-canon because Mario and Luigi have 4 fingers, they make awful jokes and Mario's so talkative you want to punch him in the face. Oh, and Luigi has a spaghetti fetish. Plus the game wasn't released in Japan, the place where Mario himself comes from.

They all look to be the Same Age, except for Bowser, while PiT clearly depicts Mario and Luigi as being at least 2 Years older than Peach, and capable of Speach!

Hotel Mario isn't cannon because it wasn't even released on a freakin' Nintendo system. Case closed.

Hotel Mario was licensed. Many games are and still are canon. Console plays no importance in that. And their personalities? They're not much different from the cartoons, which people seem to like and some regard as canon. I honestly don't see any reason why the happenings of Hotel Mario should not have happened. It's all a nice little story.
However, the quality sucks.

Hotel Mario, the Cartoon, the Movie, and YIDS are not Canon, until I see a reason to believe otherise.

I don't see how the cartoons are good. The only funny moment was when Luigi faked to be pregnant so that he wouldn't have to go through a water point full of killer fishes. Plus the events are certainly not canon, for a lot of reasons (the MK actually looks like a fairy tale kingdom, Bowser dies in the second-to-last episode of Super Mario World, tons of things).
Hotel Mario was licensed by Nintendo of America. I doubt Nintendo of Japan (a.k.a. the ones that made and still make Mario) knows about games like Mario is Missing!, Hotel Mario, Mario's Time Machine.
Oh, and the quality sucks. Yoshi's Island DS' quality doesn't suck. The game is "meh" but it's still decent.

M&L1 has awful Bowser sprites, the sound quality is almost disgusting (TOO MUCH BEEPS AND TECHNO AND REPETITIVE), the animations aren't too good. Would the game not be canon ? And YIDS wasn't entirely bad anyway. Hotel Mario was.

I quite liked Yoshi's Island DS. Sure, it's not as good as the last game, but it's got some good levels and ideas to balance out the bad stuff, and is actually a game unlike Yoshi's Topsy Turvy and Yoshi Touch and Go.
The castle theme sucks, sure, but the boss battles weren't bad and I see no reason to hate it.
So erm... are any adaptations of the series 'canon'? Because the Japanese ones are no better than the American ones at sticking to the games.

Any adaptions to What?

Just any spinoff media. Not games, I mean like cartoons, films, anime series, manga, comics, books, whatever the hell the Ice Capades were meant to be...

Apparently, no. The closest outside-of-VGs media we have is the Super Mario-kun manga and it still ruins the games' canon. For now, only the video games are part of the continuity.

Well, I could see the Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach being Canon if she didn't get Married in the end. But Super Mario Kun COULD be canon, but I haven't read the whole Series yet so I can't say for sure... And if Super Mario Adventures isn't supposed to be an adaption of Maro World and is intended to be it's own Original Story, I don't see why it shouldn't be considered at least partly Canon! But as for the Ice Capades, absoloutely NOT. And even though I don't consider the Movie Canon, or even a Blockbuster Film, I can't help but keep my old VCR for the sole Purpose of watching it every now and then... Probably because it played such an Important role in my Childhood...

The Super Mario Adventures comic is actually Japanese-made (lol funfact) and looks quite canon. But Peach's personality is completely wrong (she's way too combative) and the comic acts as if Super Mario World never happened.

Tell that to the Bowser sprites. Tell that to the castle music. Tell that to the castle music that plays when Bowser sprites appear. It's playable, just not standard Mario quality. And considering it's supposed to be the sequel to what I believe is one of best games ever made. It's a downright insult.
