Princess Toadstool rules all the Mushroom Kingdom, I think Lavalava Island is probably part of Dinosaur Land.

The scenery of lava-lava island looks similar to yoshis island because they are both tropical islands.

Of corse hawaii is ruled by the united states. Lava-lava island isn't.(ruled by the mushroom kingdom)
