If this theory is true, all of the castles were near Koopa Village. (From PM. I think that's what it's called.) So maybe the Koopas controlled a bunch of castles around that area, and when the majority of the race joined/was enslaved by Bowser, their castles went to him.

No, not all of them, there's lots of land at the horizon on the PM map. Probably just fields or untouched plains.
I do think a large majority of castles ( and fortresses ) are near the Koopa Bros. castle area.

I just remembered something! In Mario&Luigi, if you talk to one of the beans in the Beanbean city, it turns out that he's an anthropologist (I guess he'd be considered that) and he's looking for the remains of an ancient bean race. He also says that the race was really really advanced. This coincides with my theory that all the technology of the Mario world was found as opposed to created. I'll try and find a transcript of what the bean guy says.

Humans coming from earth would most definatly contribute ideas for inventions.
Plus the mushroom people, Yoshi's and other...er, humanoid creatures thought up inventions.
Is humanoid the right word?

Yeah, humanoid works. And I'm not saying that the toads and everybody didn't create stuff, I'm just saying that I think discovering all that ancient tech gave them the jump-start they needed in order to create the stuff. I dunno I that makes sense.

Does the Bean Bean guy actually say that? And here's a sneak peak at a time line: -Yoshi's defeat Kamek and Bowser as a child. -The Mario Bros. are home and safe for a short time. -Bowser's forces regroup in new home ( probably Dark Land ) -Small battles break eventually. -The Bros. parents think it's not safe in the Mushroom World anymore so they send the Bros. to grow up in Brooklyn ( The Mario Bros. home is somewhere in the Italian district of Brooklyn but nobody knows where exactly) A while later -Somebody makes a magical object to warp between dimensions ( the rock ) and gives it to Daisy's mother. -Bowser learns about the rock and invents the plan to merge dimensions. -Princess Daisy is born. -Bowser goes after Daisy's mother ( for the rock ), she escapes to Brooklyn and leaves Daisy to grow up there ( with the rock ). -When Daisy's mother goes back to the warp area she is killed by Bowser. -The Bros. and Daisy grow up and meet years later. -[More later in the movie] The Bros. devolve Bowser and go back to Brooklyn. -Daisy and her father rule the Mushroom Kingdom. -Some loyal subjects Revolve Bowser and regroup elsewhere. -Once again small battles break out. [According to the movie, three weeks later Daisy goes to the Mario Bros. house to get their help.] -It is decided that Daisy and her father can rule Sarsalsa Land while Princess Toadstool rules the Mushroom Kingdom. The Mario Bros. stay with Peach. - Bowser learns that the Mushroom Kingdom has a new ruler and steals her ( Peach ). This is where the game Super Mario Bros. comes in as I've told you several times before. Well? What do yall think?

Hmmm, sounds interesting. So does the city where the movie took place exist in this timeline?

Um, yeah. The "city" could be some main home area for Bowser.

Where does the arcade game Mario Bros. fit in your timeline?

Why is that even relavent? The game sucks either system or platform. It's like Pac man but without the hopeless death feeling. If it should even be considered canon then i would suspect some sort of confrontation would arise in the more clustered pipe areas. I suppose.

You want to consider the movie as canon but not one of the games? I don't agree with that.

Yeah, that does seem a little bit contradictory.

Ok it happened. But...
The battle game Mario Bros. is more like a short interference of than anything else. It looks like the Bros. just ran into a bunch of Koopas and guys. It ain't really a big adventure ya know.

I always thought it showed Mario's first encounter with Mushroom Dimension creatures, and that the pipes the creatures came from lead to the the Mushroom Dimension. But I don't know how this would fit into your movie-based theory.

The movie would make more sense to be the first time the Bros. went to the mushroom dimension.

And so the arcade game would probably be their second journey to the Mushroom Kingdom, then. But then we must ask, Why did they stay there if it was possible to get back to the real world?
