Bowser's species

Something I've always wondered about myself. I used to have a theory that Bowser's race acted as kind of overlords/masters of the koopas, and that the rest of his kind was wiped out before Yoshi's Island.

And is he the last of his species?

Is their home Dark Land?

Is Bowser their king or just some high commanding officer?

I think he's the king and anything else he sees fit to be. As for his species, I think he is the last of his kind. Although it could be possible he was just a really large Koopa and was made king because of his size.

I highly doubt he's just a large koopa, there's too many physical differences.

You're right. He probably is just another species, a very rare one.

Or could radiation from somthing result in a mutation?

But he would have to mate with sombody of his own species.
Otherwise things could get weird...

Could he be classified as a differnt breed of Koopas?

Even though the differnces?

*shrug* Anything's possible. As for the whole mating outside his species thing, I've already stated my theories on that.

And "Dark Land". Lets discuse that. In SMB3 the Dark Land was the first view of Bowser's "home". That seemed to be Bowser's first and permanent home.

Bowser's other home was in Yoshi's Island. That area could have been warped there for an unknown reason.

My idea was during "The War" some Yoshi's tried to take over baby Bowser's castle. Kamek and some other Magikoopas could have warped away the castle to safty in desperation. Kamek carried baby Bowser somwhere ( possibly to dark land ) and hid while the Koopa Empire came to ruins.

I think Dark Land was the "Bowser's" home land. The bases on Yoshi's Island seemed like temporary bases of operations to me. A more interesting note is, where were all those castles in Super Mario World?

The castles in Yoshi's Island could have belonged to the Yoshi's for their own purposes.

What do you mean where were the castles in Super Mario World? The fortresses and the boss castles? They didn't move.

Do you think they were actually the same? They seemed to be in different locations to me. Although, I guess you can never tell with these games . I do suspect however that the castle on top of the hill in SMW2 became the yellow switch palace in SMW.

Yeah Rapheal's castle is most definitly the Yellow Switch Palace.

For your question the castles in Yoshi's Island wernt in Super Mario World because 1: The game Yoshi's Island came later and 2: The castles could have been destroyed.

The Koopalings castle in Super Mario World could be any of the castles from Yoshi's Island.

Um, no it didn't. It has to do with the whole Baby Mario thing, remember? That means it happens before the other games. As for the other stuff, you'er probably right.

I think the castles on Yoshi's Island were either castles built for the Koopa occupation or castles from a previous race the Koopas took control of. And YoshiMastar, do you really believe SMW2 took place after SMW?

What I meant to say was that the addition of the castles for the game YI is because it's adding on to the stuff for SMW.

I said the GAME Yoshi's Island came out after SMW.

Ahh, I gotcha. Well, I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but whether or not the games themselves were made after one another is kind of irrelevent. The thing's we're trying to discover are what's going in in-universe.

Yeah but some things are result of bad decisions made by the games designers.

And it's our job as fans to try and explain away those flaws. ^_^
