According to Nintendo Power Vol.257: -Yoshi isn't Mario's most verbose Companion, but he puts his Toungue to good use grabbing Fruit, Enemies, and even prickly Pokeys. We can only Assume Yoshi has no Tastebuds. -Gobbled Goombas and the like are Proccesed here[In his Stomach] into Eggs, or belched back up as Flames or something else Yoshi can use against bullying Baddies. -Yoshi was born to give Mario a Ride-Literally. That seat[Yoshis' Saddle] doesn't come off! -Just how does Yoshi stay afloat with his famous Flutter-Jump? Perhaps it's his Shoes, which all Yoshis are born wearing. -Egg Chute[Beneath Yoshis' Tail; Neither Reproductive, nor Digestive, but a new System(Which works very Closely with the Digestive One)]
Shades of Yoshi; Mario's pal has appeared in the following Colors: -Pink -Green -Yellow -Purple -Grey -Red -Navy Blue -Dark Green -White -Orange -Black -Sky Blue
Well, thats all my Quotes! I know Nintendo Power has no bearing on the Games, but they are the closest thing we have to an Official Source, keep in mind they ARE Nintendo's Official North American Publication(Man, thats a Mouth-full)!

It was shown in Yoshi Story that yoshis do have taste-buds. I think that the saddle is actual a modified spike. Not quite sure how to explain the shoes though, maybe they're some sort of strange hooves?

@tastebuds:I think they were Joking! @saddle:I'd say it's probably some Variation of a Shell! @shoes:Either these are actually Shoes that they wear to Protect their feet, OR they are some type of Hooves(They are used as Mounts, afterall)!

You're a Sub too? Awesome! I just got it, but i won't Soil it for you! Best Issue in Months! That was amazing. I just read it today, best issue in the longest time. HOW DARE CRIS SLATE SAY THAT DONKEY KONG AND DIDDY KONG ARE THE ONLY KONGS NEEDED!

I think Kiddy Kong is a little much though, and I would have rather had Dixie(As opposed to Tiny)Kong is DK64. I loved it!

Kiddy is awesome. To each their own opinion though.

Does anybody agree with me that Dixie should have been in Donkey Kong 64? Anybody? Tiny Kong is cool, but Dixie is cooler! Not to mention she was playable in Two of the DKC games, while the Kong himself is only in One!

I say that they should at least add Cranky Kong into the new adventure. As for Tiny Kong, they really just invented her to create more characters

As much as I like Dixie, she stands for two extremely classic and legendary games, DKC2 and DKC3. And there are many people who hate DK64 (not me, it's one of my very favourites), so putting her in there would make them say DK64 "tarnished" the character. Also, I think Tiny, Lanky and Chunky all work together quite well as a team.

Why do people hate DK64?

tdon't hate it, but I could never really get into it as much as I could other Games, but that's just me! I'm not sure about other people though...

It wasn't a bad game. It was just a mega collect-a-thon.

I love collect-a-thons. They facilitate having enormous levels with lots to explore. Of course, a game can have lots to explore without having much to collect, like Super Mario 64, but that requires too much creativity. I haven't seen such a thing in ages.

Donkey Kong 64 wasn't the best platformer on the N64 (SM64, both Banjos, Rayman 2, and Conker [from a writing perspective anyway, not gameplay] were all better), but I have to give Donkey Kong 64 credit for its sheer amount of content.

Mentioning how great the Banjo games were just increased my hatred for Microsoft

It was equally Rare's fault as it was Microsoft's.
