It's the new Nintendo Console that has surged through the internet like a tsunami in the past 4 days. Features include: -HD, possible Blu-Ray discs -Backwards compatibility with Wii/GCN and the Wii Remote (maybe not GCN controller though?) -More powerful than both 7th generation consoles, graphics-wise and processor-wise -A 6 Inch touch screen on the controller, along with sensor bars so that you don't need a bar to play with motion. The screen is capable of streaming data, but so far it is not fully confirmed that it can stream full games. -A 2012 release date I totally called it with that idea on Sunday btw www.kamikazekoopa.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=ideas&thread=604&page=1The console will be officially unveiled at this year's E3, June 7-9, and hopefully it will get an official name that's better than Project Cafe Anyway, for more information like my Project Cafe Facebook Page, which I will continuously update as news comes out, so as to try and discern the truth about this totally amazing new console. www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/pages/Nintendo-Project-Cafe/215373875139485?sk=wall

Some people say it'll be HD. I don't believe this. HD doesn't look much different from SD, but it also means a more expensive console for pretty much nothing.

? HD is getting down to practically nothing. By 2012 a regular HDTV would be the price of a regular TV back 5 or 6 years ago, IMO. And the differences are astounding. After playing Halo 3 in HD, I never wanted to go back (though I did so mleh ;_; ). here's one example: Yeah if it's not HD I will be very very sad, because that means the graphics will still be at Wii level, and then 360 and PS3 masterpieces like Red Dead Redemption and the Mass Effect Trilogy will never be able to be ported to Project Cafe. Anyway.... onto an idea I had. I didn't think anyone else would think of it, but lookie here: boards.ign.com/nintendo_wii_lobby/b8270/201633357/r201645364/?statusId=PostReplySuccess think that Nintendo will indeed implement the 3DS as a limited controller. The only reason it couldn't be a full controller is the lack of a second control stick, but we don't even know the specifics about the controller; there could be no buttons at all or something for all we know. But it would be VERY wise feature 3DS connectivity. Think of it; Controllers are going to be above $50, maybe even $60. Even when the economy recovers, not that many people are going to want to spend that much money on over 2 controllers. Being able to use a handheld that you already own would be extremely beneficial, and it could even drive sales up for people that are on the fence about buying the 3DS, but want to buy it for its controller capabilities.

I think we should all be skeptical. I mean neither, Nintendo, nor any third party have even confirmed the existance of a Wii successor, and none of these rumours give a non anonymous source.
If it's true, it' going to be interesting. If it's false though, we get to see a gaming internet meltdown in progress, and I have a feeling many wannabe webmasters trying to cash in on this are going to be right out of pocket.

There definitely is a new Nintendo Console coming on its way. Whether or not it will have all these things is up to Nintendo themselves. One more reason why I want E3 to come sooner has appeared.

Pikmin 3 is going to be on Project Cafe, isn't it?

I agree that it should have HD; nowadays it's hard to buy something that isn't HD, and everything comes with HDMI in/out. Including new computers.

...don't tell me. Pikmin 3 is going to be on Project Cafe, isn't it? Yeeeeep. gameolosophy.com/consoles/wii/rumour-pikmin-coming-to-project-cafe-nintendo-talking-with-rockstar/ The Rockstar rumor was true. I'm actually HOPING Pikmin 3 will be on Project Cafe. I know by the time the Project Cafe launches (according to IGN's latest update), it'll have been exactly 4 years since its original announcement (July 2008-Summer 2012), but think of what processing power above the PS3 could do to Pikmin. Also, I think actually that Pikmin is the series that would benefit most from 1080p graphics, considering that it's actually set on a realistic Earth. btw, Project Cafe is real. www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=27295374&postcount=1 Miyamoto basically confirmed it in this interview (it's in French so use Google Translator). He says "not to believe everything you see on the internet", but that's probably for the more obscure rumors, like Retro Studios making Eternal Darkness 2, or the Debunked GTA 5 (It was actually a translation error from someone who linked to 01net lol). Anyway please like my Facebook page because there's already 150 fans and the more the better. I'm trying to build up a community here, and so far it's working. Once I get over 1500 fans I'm probably going to start advertising places like this lol.

Wait, so, on that HD - SD comparison picture... The SD side is what your usual SD picture looks like on a HD screen ?! It looks like the HD side if it's on a SD screen, so I don't see the point of buying a HD TV if it's to make all your old games look ugly and your current games look like your old games.
Also, Miyamoto said they ARE making a new console, and it WILL have HD, but they aren't going to announce it this year and no rumor about "Project Café" is truth. And didn't he already confirm Pikmin 3 would be on Wii2, with his "the game that'd need HD the most would be Pikmin" statement ?

No it's an HD on HD and SD on SD. He said Pikmin 3 would benefit most from HD but didn't confirm any move. Just highly rumored. And nobody ever said anything about Project Cafe being fake (Except Nintendo Life ). IGN and 01net are staking their reputations on it and it would ruin their respective sites for it to be proven false.

And what evidence, from a reliable source (aka Nintendo or a third party) is there that the rumours are true? People are buying into this way too easily, especially as not one article gives a real source other than 'anonymous tipster' (this didn't work in the playground, why would it work now?) or a misinterpretation of a Miyamoto interview.
Meh, nerds are so gullible.

Nintendo has officialy announced a successor to the Wii, said that it would be playable by everyone at E3'11, and that it would launch in 2012, sometime after April in a recent Press Release. I've been calling this for over a year now, way before the whole "Project Cafe" rumors started, though. Also, I don't believe most of the rumors, such as a 6-Inch Touch Screen in the controller, or Nintendo cooperating with Rockstar. Wii Successor Wishlist Time: -Improved Power: I'm personally fine with Wii graphical capabilities, especially with gorgeous games like Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Conduit 2, but I would still like to see them improved. As for Processing Power, I want it to be more powerful than PS3, but I want them to keep the price tag under $350USD. The reason they need more power is because by the time the Xbox 720(2014-2015*), and PS4(2015-2016*) are released, they will be able to easily overpower Nintendo's console; However, I don't want Nintendo to be quite on the cutting edge of technology, as that would surely result in a price tag of $400+, wichita would alienate the Casual Market they helped create.
-Improved Online: With the Nintendo 3DS, they are definitely going in right direction. First off, Nintendo appears to be eliminating the "Wii Shop," and "DSi Shop," and instead offering a unified Nintendo eShop. For example, let's say the Virtual Console service on the 3DS expands to include home consoles(NES, SNES, N64, etc.), and I want to download Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels for it, I should be able to re-download it onto my Project Cafe without having to repurchase it. Also, Nintendo needs to eliminate Friend Codes in favor of an Account-based System, I mean seriously, who benefits from Friend Codes? Who?
-Improved Built-In Memory: A Hard Drive should be standard in modern Video Game consoles, I mean, they aren't as expensive as they used to be, and Nintendo could offer different models to fit every consumers price range (16gb-120gb sounds reasonable). Improved Motion Controls: I love the Wii Remote, and Wii Remote+, but I can't help but grow tired of the "Remote-esque" look of it; I'd like to see it redesigned to look more modern, although I'm not sure how. I've heard some people suggest a second Analog Stick on the Wand, but with the built-in IR Pointer, I don't really see why it's necessary, although if they did do it, I would prefer it to be like the Slide Pad on the Nintendo 3DS, and for them to move the D-Pad below the "+," "-," and Home Buttons. Another thing Nintendo should do is getting rid of the wires between the Wand and Nunchuck; Both should have rechargeable, and come packaged with a Charging Cradle(Ala 3DS) right out of the box. The System should also include a wireless "traditional" controller(Similar to the Classic Controller Pro), but with a built-in Accelerometer, and Gyroscope, and it should have it's own Charging Cradle, too.
Well, that's my thoughts. What do you guys think?

These possibilities are driving me crazy. But HEY! E3 is at the beginning of June this year so we won't have to wait too long.

No it's an HD on HD and SD on SD. Huh... I have three SD TVs, none has graphics like that. You know, I don't care how that Café will look or be like. I just want there to be colorful buttons. I miss the red-yellow-blue-green color scheme of the SFC, PAL SNES, N64 and GCN.

Do you mean it looks too poor? Because I really don't know that much about picture quality I just googled HD vs. SD lol. I like the colored buttons, but it's not all that necessary IMO. btw, here's my amazing photo album of nearly every controller idea mockup out there. I worked for like 5 hours finding all these lol www.facebook.com/media/set/fbx/?set=a.217265054950367.63810.215373875139485And I cannot believe how little you guys believe. If you actually read my Facebook Page, you would see that I have compiled much more than enough evidence to prove all of the original April 13th rumors true, though I can't find it all at the moment lol.... Though Iwata totally indirectly confirmed it himself, touchscreen and all. wii2blog.com/nintendo-likes-buttons-and-isnt-going-to-ditch-them/ Also, Warioworld.com is the offical site for developer tools for consoles. Both Nitro and CTF, DS and 3DS respectively, have login pages, when otherwise it would send you to a "Page not found" redirect. Well warioworld.com/cafe sent you to a login. Well it did up until a few days ago. They just redid the site to not have any warioworld.com/ pages.... Coincidentally lol. gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=156619Believe me I'm not a "gullible nerd" at all, I researched this heavily.

As much as I don't care about Achievements/Trophies, I actually had a pretty cool idea: You know how every Achievement on Xbox 360 earns you X amount of GamerScore? Well, what if Achievements (maybe "Medals," or "Stamps" would be more Nintendo-esque) on Project Cafe earned you Play Coins, which could be used to buy new outfits/accessories for your Mii, unlock Bonus Content in games, etc. Also, to avoid being too off-topic on a Super Mario Forum, let's talk about what Project Cafe could do for the world's greatest plumber. First off, as much as I love Super Mario Galaxy 1&2, I'd like to see the next Super Mario game to have a greater emphasis on exploration (ala Super Mario 64/Sunshine), a larger Hub World, and maybe a few RPG elements. What if Toad Town (Delfino Plaza size) was the Hub World, and Mario could buy Power-Ups, or maybe the ability to carry one Power-Up in your Inventory (ala Super Mario World) that you could use during a Mission. But wait, how could Play Coins be incorporated into a Super Mario game? I don't know...
