GameCube Nintendo. Not complicated. kingkoopa : Nope. The Wii doesn't have Nintendo in its name, even officialy. I'm not sure about the GameBoy, the Color, the Advance and the SP either. Don't forget the Famicom and the SFC too.

BACK ON THE RAILS: *ahem* So like what new gimmicks could this New SMB possible use? I guess wireless/Wi-fi/voice multiplayer would make it better, but the 3D won't really help a 2D platformer....

Well, we can be sure there'll be multiplayer.
Let's see first the "gimmicks" of each game: - Super Mario Bros.: ... - The Lost Levels: More difficult. - Super Mario Bros. 3: Each world has a different theme. - Super Mario World: Yoshi. - New Super Mario Bros.: It's on a handled... handlet... well, whatever you call that, a portable console. - New Super Mario Bros. Wii: Multiplayer.
I guess Super Mario Bros. 5 / Super Mario Bros. 4 / New Super Mario Bros. 3DS will have something, like... Power-ups you can use at the same time ? Online multiplayer ? Nintendo is unpredictable, you know.

You mean like the combo-powers in Kirby 64?!?! Yesyesyes!!!
Kuribo's Shoe+Wing Cap= WIN. Boo Shroom + Penguin Suit = EPIC WIN!
Btw though it's handheld, like that it's HELD in a HAND. lol.

It would just be a regular mushroom lol Actually a game based around the items would be so much fun. I could make another one of those 12-paragraph idea topics about it but it's almost 11 and I'm tired

I'm super pumped to see New Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo 3DS. It could easily look as good as New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and in full 3D! I'm sure it will have Local Wireless, and possibly Online, Co-Op/Competitive Multiplayer. Although I'm sure Nintendo has something else up there sleeves... Maybe a Stage Editor? Think about it, you could create your own custom Levels, and then share them with strangers via StreetPass... Likely? No. Awesome? Yes.

Has it been confirmed it's going to be a New Super Mario Bros game? I certainly hope not...

It hasn't really been confirmed as anything. All we know is that it is a game from the Super Mario Bros genre. In other words it will most certainly be a platformer of some kind.

I want a new game, that's all. NSMBWii was just the DS game with the Koopalings added. SMG2 was just the original, but with less story.
The Mario series needs some originality, and fast.

And that is where Paper Mario 3DS comes in. Don't you worry your pretty little head, Smbbq.

SMBBQYou have to keep in mind that Mario changes with each new Console Generation, so it would only make sense that a second 3D Platformer in a single Generation would follow the same path as the first. Next Gen, I assure you, there will be a Super Mario <Insert Original Theme Here> title to satisfy you.

I certainly hope so. Hopefully we'll get a SM64-styled platformer soon. That's what I really want, I think. Just total freedom and exploration in a video game.

Freedom and Exploration? You mean my Alternate-Universe idea don't you 8) When I realized that this being portable means that there's no need for bubbles, I immeadiately 'sqee'd. I can't wait now! =DDDD

SM64 had that? The closest to "freedom" I recall from it was being able to do some of the stars out of order.
Sure, you could wander around some, but the levels were too small and mission-focused for you to do much.
