Yes, but Sonic doesn't compare to Mario in the slightest. "Mario and Sonic at The______Olympic Games", shouldn't even exist anyway.
As you may have guessed, I don't like Sonic. (And don't even get me started about the drive-in chain here in the US...)

And while you're only 2 years older than me, you're more rigid than a straight line.
Loosen up, dude.

Seriously though Dinosaur, it might be bad that we are straying a tiny bit off topic, but complaining about it doesn't make the problem better. Anyways... *pushes mariobro out of the way and steals flameshield*

Wait, was that directed at my irrational Sonic hate? Or the fact that we might stray off-topic for a little bit?
With all due respect, if you don't want to hear off-topicness, go troll a different forum.

Coming to a forum for intelligent discussion and complaining about not getting it isn't trolling.
And having irrational hate for anything is immature.

Alright, maybe what I said was rude. But please, loosen up a bit.
In other news: A user on DKC fansite DKC Atlas has just posted a bit from an interview with a Dutch Magazine about DKC Returns.
Below is the translation:
"Jurjen (name of the interviewer): I just played the game for a bit, and it's quite difficult at times. Don't you think it might be a little too hard for some people?
Nintendo: Did you play the originals?
Jurjen: All of them!
Nintendo: Then you might've forgotten that the originals were quite hard at times as well.
Jurjen: That's true.
Nintendo: Actually, in the final version of the game you'll be able to purchase power-ups with bananacoins you collect within the levels. If you fail to complete a level in a single go, and play the same level a few times, you'll end up with enough coins to, for example, make DK stronger, or buy another heart.
[...]
Jurjen: In the version I played you chose what level to play from a menu, but I assume the final version of the game will have you walk across a map like the old games, right?
Nintendo: That is correct. We made some beautiful maps that you can rotate and zoom in and out on. Your progression on the map doesn't have to be a linear one per se, sometimes you can skip or unlock a level on the map.
Jurjen: How many levels are there in total?
Retro: Tons.
[...]
Jurjen: So can we expect some help from friendly animals?
Retro (with caution) (it actually says the "with caution" part): You can look forward to a few, eh, pretty recognisable, eh, "elements".
Jurjen: Did you say Elephants? So Ellie the elephant is back?
Retro (Laughs): No, no, that's not what I said! I meant recognisable game-elements, like in general.
Jurjen: So no Ellie? I want Ellie.
Retro: You'll have to wait till November to see everything that's in the game.
Jurjen: Ugh, that'll be hard.
Retro: Haha, You won't be disappointed. Theres plenty more features/things hidden in the game we haven't told you anything about yet."
All credit goes to "nakche".

All the experience I have from playing Donkey Kong games is "Donkey Kong Country" for the Game Boy Color, but let me tell you, being able to buy power-ups and having a huge 3Dish Map Screen that you can view from every angle conceivable sounds rather awesome.
I wasn't considering buying this game, but this interview just tipped the scale for me. ^.^

I know, right! It seems the map's going to be an expansion on how DKC3's world map looked.
Now, why didn't NSMBWii have anything like this...

Couldn't make room with all the noninternet capabilities and all the Toadish playable characters, I suppose.

So, how do you all think the "buying power-ups" will work? I'm guessing it'll only last for one level, but I want to hear your theories.

Well, there's three ways it could go down, with the first two involving an item inventory.
1. Loading up one power-up to use right at the beginning of the level, like in SMB3 and NSMBWii.
Or...
2. Opening up the inventory in the middle of the level in order to help with getting a High-Score, ala Yoshi's Island.
OrOr...
3. Something completely different that will leave me completely baffled.
...Most likely #3...

Hopefully #3.
Man, every time I see new info for this game, I get even more pumped. Hurry up and get here, November!

A certain game starring a certain mouse that will save a certain company is also coming this November. I'd say I have a lot to look forward to.

Someone should start an Epic Mickey thread to discuss it, since this is a DKC Returns thread.
Just trying to stay on topic, that's all.

Coming to a forum for intelligent discussion and complaining about not getting it isn't trolling. Putting Mario in the "logical" category isn't even intelligent to start with. What were you thinking about ? On-topic: I'm about to start playing DKC on the Game Boy Advance. If I like it, I may get DKCR.
