Well, with this site starting to pick up steam, I don't think we can say that for too long.

And that's why we need some good mods in here. All the people I've seen posting so far seem fair and non-ad-hominem, most of them would make good mods.

More people means more trolls. ...Trolls. That reminds me, you guys should check out the thing in my sig.

About that thing in your sig: could you explain why you like it? I have tried numerous times to get into MS Paint Adventures, but the story's so complicated and confusing and full of insider references, and I have the feeling it's mocking me. Also, the humor is all essentially "It looks like one thing BUT IS ACTUALLY ANOTHER! GUH HUH HUH!", at least until you get to the dramatic parts which aren't funny at all.
This is just my opinion though, and I'm sure I can be swayed.
On topic: in my home country, we dealt with trolls by banning them. I think we should do the same here.

In Soviet Russia, forums take over...trolls... Oh god! I'm turning into one of them! WAUGH!!!! *starts running around, and runs into a wall* Edit: Wait, weren't we talking about he-who-prefers-not-to-be-named?

Yeah, but this topic went off the rails from the very beginning.
Anyway, yeah. Doopliss. Him going from a formidable enemy to someone who lets himself be punished just like Vivian is also quite weird. Why would he join the Shadow Sirens anyway? Just to take revenge on Mario? It's a very sudden turn of character.

Well, remember what the ravens said.
"Nevermore. If no one knows your name, you can perform powerful magic."
Since Mario was able to reveal his true identity, Doopliss now has significantly less power, and less confidence in himself.
Ergo, he needed Beldam so he could exact revenge on Mario, and so was willing to take all of her crap in order to do so.

It would have been cool if they said "nevermore". I don't see nearly enough references to classical literature in Mario games. Chapter 7 of SPM has ancient mythology, though, I like that. A shame the gameplay of 7-3 is so awfully awful.
Yes, he lost his power to be invincible against Mario, but he's still invincible against other people. Wouldn't the best solution for him be to run away as far as possible and start a new life somewhere in Dark Land or DK Island or any faraway place?

Mario ruined his prank, humiliated him, and stole his Crystal Star.
Don't you think he'd at least be a little miffed?

But look. Here's what should have been in any logical person's mind... Doopliss has just been defeated by Mario. Mario is probably going to tell everyone in Twilight Town Doopliss's name so he can't ever go back without being torch-mobbed. Trying to team up with someone and going after Mario would put Doopliss in places with people who know his name - Mario and Mario's partners as well as maybe other people they talk with. Mario is a potential danger zone for Doopliss. Even if he manages to defeat Mario, there are people around him who would pummel Doopliss to dust. Soooo, the logical turn of action would be to get as far away as possible from Mario for a few years so Mario stops telling people about Doopliss, and then start terrorizing some other town. Him trying to go after Mario is almost suicidal.

...He turned people into pigs. As a freakin' prank.
Doopliss is not a logical person.

True, true.
That's why Grubba disappeared after HIS Crystal Star got taken away. Probably to another place with a similarly powerful artifact. Grubba's a smart man Clubba. Seriously, I think he's the only Mario villain to not obviously be a villain.

Grubba's older. He knows more. I think Doopliss might be, like, 20 something, 25 tops.

This is actually an interesting question - how old is he? As a ghost, he might actually be VERY old, just pretty immature. Also, there's a gigantic stained glass window of him in the Steeple... that seems rather old.

Well, to me, I don't actually think that Duplighosts are actually real ghosts.
Personally, I believe that a Duplighost is actually an entity made entirely of purple smoke, (See how Doopliss disappears into purple smoke when transforming as someone?), which acts like Shadow Bugs in the way that they scan trophies and turn into copies of Smashers. They just choose to wear white sheets, for whatever reason. Probably to allow them to hold physical objects such as, say, a Crystal Star, perhaps?
The stained glass window is a bit harder to explain. I think that the Boos that roam the halls of Creepy Steeple were the first ones to arrive long before Doopliss ever was, and with the Crystal Star corrupting his better judgement, he sealed the Boos away in that tiny little chest and began remodeling the Steeple to showcase his face a little more. Starting with the stained glass window.

Hoo, wow, that all makes extreme sense! I especially like the purple smoke theory. Well, I guess we're done with the topic then. Wrap it up, boys, it's been a great show.

Unless someone like me still believes Boos and Duplighosts are in fact real ghosts.
