How about Snow Flowers cause a change in Clothes color, and the Ability to throw Snowballs for prolonged Period of Time(Say, An Entire Adventure). The Flower featured in SMG is the same Flower, but instead of Mario exerting the Energy(In the Form of Snowballs) for a Long while, he takes in the Energy(Which concentrated to that Extent, converts into Ice) for a Few Seconds! So Power-Ups such as the Fire and Snow Flowers vary depending on how there Power is utilized!

So you basically think it's Mario deciding how to use it and not the sub-variety of flower itself?

Pretty much, Yeah. Off Topic:You know how the RPG's have "Mushrooms" and "Super Mushrooms"? Well, I had the Idea that "Mushrooms" are not Magical Power-Ups, but just the type of Mushrooms you see growing in NSMBWii(Basically Super Mushrooms, but with a Longer Stem, Thinner, and no Eyes), so I say we call them "Medicinal Mushrooms", or something like that, to distinguish them!

Or we could call them healing mushrooms, but the name really isn't that important, the important thing is that Super Mushrooms and the Mushrooms in RPGs are two different types of Mushroom

I agree. Now, lets talk about how the Bee/Boo Mushrooms change Mario's appearance, and who can use them! I mean, could a Boo use a Bee Mushroom, or Vice-versa, or could a Boo even use a Boo Mushroom? Where did these Items Originate? All good Questions.

Well, I believe Bee Mushrooms aren't actually natural to the Mushroom World, they're more or less an alien variety.

But that doesn't explain how they Originated...

I think that those are power-ups that weren't made by the Ancients. After all, NSMBW's Blue Toad may have created the Penguin Suit and the Yellow Toad may have created the... Helicopter Mushroom thing. Maybe that an alien race studied the MW's power-ups and species, and made the all new power-ups you see only in SMG and SMG2, then scattered them everywhere in space ?

Okay then:
Bee Mushrooms originated on a small asteroid inhabited by a Honeybee-like species. Eventually, these bees gained the power to travel through space, bringing the Bee Mushrooms with them. They however can be used by other species, giving them the power of flight.

*Bump*. Oh, sorry I didn't see you there. On Topic: Okay, so I think it's safe to say that Bee Mushrooms were developed by the Honeyhive Kingdom for new citezens, in order to better adopt them into Bee culture... OR, they are a natural variety of Mushroom that the Bee's never utilized do to their natural "immunity"(if you could call it that) to it. On another topic, what makes certain Power-Ups thrive in a particular region? For example, why are Snow Flowers found growing in Deserts? And why are Fire Flowers found growing in Tundras? What makes Super Mushrooms thrive in virtually ALL enviorments, from Grassy Plains to Volcanoes? I mean, really, what makes all of this happen the way it does?

Remember, You don't find those growing out of the ground rather than in blocks a few feet off of the ground.

I guess you can store anything in a block and it will come out the same as the day you put it in... WAIT ? mark Blocks are now the new Space Bags

But, as Super Mario Galaxy proves, Power-Ups actually grow; and I think it's safe to say that, again, based on Galaxy, that they are actually growing. But, maybe I'm wrong, maybe they really are stored in Blocks, but that brings up the question, "Who fills and refills ? Blocks?"

I guess they refill themselves magically, and were originally filled (and created) by the Ancients to help them doing stuff.

While that would make sense, I tend to go with the, "Most Blocks actually Grow Power-Ups, just like the Ground" Theory instead.

That's pretty much the same thing anyway, considering Power-Ups don't seem to touch the ground in SMG, and they "grow" in less than a second, so they pretty much magically re-appear.

KoopalmierI'm pretty sure that's just to show newcomers that they are Interactive; not just another part of the scenery. I'd still say that they just grow there over time, and on some occasions when Mario "activates" it, speeding up the growth process(it IS magic, after all).

My opinion is that Mushrooms and Super Mushrooms are the same thing and that they only have healing properties, with no growth effects included.
Shrinking to half-size is just a way of visually representing to the player that their character is wounded. So, when they consume a mushroom, they grow back to regular size, showing that their character is healthy again.
On the other hand, I think that Mega Mushrooms do cause you to grow into a colossus.

Mega Mushrooms certainly do cause you to grow since I haven't seen them used for anything but growing in any game.
