As in, does Donkey Kong Isle exist in the Mushroom World like Mario and Wario's series, or in the real world ala the DKU that the eponymous site talks about it being set in.

I'm fine with it in either, actually. I do know that Claws followed it to be on Earth though. I lean more towards it's own world, however.

I say the DK Isles(And Northern Kremisphere) are apart of the Mushroom World! I know some people think it happens on Earth, but I don't!

Well, it's not Earth at any rate since there are no humans around - while I might believe something like Wario Ware to MAYBE be set on Earth, DK is just way too off. Maybe it's on the Planet of the Apes, which is technically Earth?
About Mario, I don't know. Something like the Mario vs. DK intro might suggest that yes, but utter lack of Kremlings (or any other DK series races) in Mario games except for sports/crossovers would suggest that no. Probably it's in some very, very remote part of the Mushroom World and Donkey Kong gets to the kart races by warp pipe.

That's sorta where I would put it on the MW as well.
Off-topic: Mario vs DK is just a terrible portrayal of DK.

Yes, Mario vs DK is a terrible portrayal. It confuses arcade DK and Donkey Kong Country DK.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong simply kills any form of canon there was before. Mario becomes a toy maker ? DK and Cranky become the same character ? Mario making full sentences ? Um. We shouldn't even consider it as being "canon", because it simply kills the series. Oh, and did I mention that Mario opened THREE Mini-Mario parks ?
In DKC and DK:JB, the island is on the MW. But in Jungle Climber and King of Swing, the island is on Earth (as seen in the last cutscene of the DS game). I think those are two different versions of the island. Much like how there is (maybe) a Wario on the MW (WarioLand) and a Wario on another planet (WarioWare).

Mario has been making full sentences since Mario Teaches Typing, this includes SM64. "So long, King Bowser" and "Thank you so much-a for to playing my game" are both classics. Just because he doesn't talk at all in SMRPG/PM and makes gibberish sounds in M&L doesn't mean he doesn't talk just as normally as the others if the designers let him. I, for one, would like to see an RPG game where Mario talks. Or at least play as somebody who talks, like Paper Luigi.

In SM64, Mario's texts were reduced to "So long, King Bowser!". In MvsDK his texts are "reduced" to "Hey, Donkey Kong, are you okay ? ... Stop! Not again! Here we go again, woo-hoo!". In PM2 it's officially stated that, even in-game, Mario doesn't talk much. In the MvsDK series he talks as much as you or me.

Oh, I think the "doesn't talk much" is simply poking fun at him never talking at all, and even if he has to explain something lengthy, doing it in a few seconds by saying "hoo-hum!" Mario makes incredibly many sounds just walking around and jumping, I think he'd be quite talkative, again, if the designers let him.
Although, it might be just my fandom for Charles Martinet speaking. I've listened to all publicly available recordings of him as Mario on Nintendo events and I find it simply charming. I wish Mario would talk more in-game.

I do, too. But for some reasons Mario's voice annoys many people. : /

I don't mind Mario's voice, it's really good, the thing I dislike are pretty much the voices of every NON Charles Martinet voiced characters. Especially Daisy.

I don't think Mario should talk too much, but Princess Peach should be fully VO'd. Bowser should talk like he does in the Galaxy Sub-Series(Unintelligable Grunts). Every other Character is fine the way they were in Galaxy!

Donkey Kong clearly doesn't exist on Earth. It has stickerbrush mazes in the sky and giant beehives and magical mushroom forests. It might be on its own planet, but I find it more likely that it's on the Mushroom World.

Yeah, Ithink it's just a Chain of Islands relatively untouched by Modern Civilization.

It's actually sticker bush, not brush. The trend came from some official source that misspelled it, I can't remember which one. A stickerbush is regional dialect for a sort of thorny plant, but the misspelling completely took over everything. However, the misspelling is now also correct after DKC2 on GBA came out and it got renamed to Stickerbrush to fit the Internet's opinion. Old-skool nerds like me still say "stickerbush", though. Proof is credit to pic!

That also says that Run, Rambi! Run! is in Parrot Chute Panic. Don't take it at face value.

The point is, "stickerbush" is an actual, albeit rare, word, while "stickerbrush" seems to have its origins in the song/misspelling. Try searching for "+stickerbrush -symphony" and "+stickerbush -symphony" on Google Images. The second one will show you actual stickerbushes.

I honestly couldn't care less about parsing language like this.

Well, I'm a linguist, so I do care. Sorry. Let's part each keeping our own opinion.
