When you put a lot of lava in one area and burn everything down, there tends to be a lot of smoke around you.

The Koopa Kingdom is probably much older than Bowser's dad. Castle Koopa could be over 400 years old for all we know.

It's called Darkland/Darkworld guys   And it totally is lava what's all this about pollution On topic(ish): The Kermlings totally need to come back in the next DK game. It's not like they weren't in Mario Strikers AND King of Swing. |

I thought Bowser's Empire was always a volcanic place. I think only part of the Koopa Kingdom is volcanic, mainly the castle and its surrounding areas but the rest of it is probably just like the Mushroom Kingdom. |
