Or maybe Mario just dosn't like the tast of them and he leaves them lieing around untile something else comes along and eats them up. I guess this might be starting to get into the question of what happens to all the other enemies Mario defeats......hmmmmm.......Magical, cell spliting/reproducing bacteria in the soil? Ok that sounds kind of weird but besides that the only other explanation I have for the plants is the part of a bigger plant theory.

Well, just think of it this way: if you're trapped in a pit and the only way to get out is to keep fighting, you're going to care more about your survival than personal tastes. I think the instant disappearing is in-game for the most part...if it was bacteria then that would happen to living creatures as well.

Well maybe he dosn't eat them because they are raw and uncooked. That could be bad for you. And I think Gloombas might be poisonous. I in the MK eating stuff like that may or may not be considered canabalism. Why would Mario go hrough the truble of eating them and maybe getting sick when he could just eat the mushrooms hes brought along. Besides that some of the things would probably hard to eat for Mario especialy if it was raw, like pokeys and um are wizerds like made of metal or something? Plus alot of the things down there seemed to be made of paper. Who would eat paper??? Actualy....Just about everything in the PMU seems to bve made of paper.....EVEN FOOD WE KNOW MARIO EATS!?!?!?!? @_@ Hmmmmmmmmmmm......What would happen to living creatures as well?

The paper thing is something I won't go into...but he has ways of starting fires (Vivian, Bobbery, Fire Flowers). Well Bobbery would be dangerous but you get the point. And he only has so much space to carry stuff. I'm not getting into the whole hammerspace thing either.

Used up resources? Not in the Marioverse. Everyone knows that small sources of resources in video games usually grow back or restock quickly.

And the enemy's disappear because there is no reason for them too be shown anymore (it's an in-game thing). They usually come back if you go back too the area they're from, so that means they're not dead. Except hooktail, she died for some reason.

Both of you are just telling me in-game things. That doesn't explain how it would work. I guess the creatures being knocked out makes sense, but usually when resources replenish at least it's in a place more plausible than a pit that's probably one mile under the surface.

Replenishing resources is not an in-game thing, despite how implausible it is. Power Flowers in Yoshi's Story grow back instantly. Blocks are semi-quickly refilled and recreated (as in, Mario can return to 1-1 and all the coin blocks are filled again). You can get infinite Koopa Leaves and such by going back and forth.

I don't think those things are as endless as they appear to be. Perhaps there was a field of Power Flowers Nintendo didn't want to animate or Mario picked different leaves. But in any case, those things are still more plausible to happen above ground with resources than below ground with none.

There's gotta be something else...hum...most of the enemies down there are Dark variations, so they could be animated shadows. Shadows don't need to feed (except maybe on misguided adventurers). This theory may have a few holes in it though, for example Pirahna Plants (although they're pretty tough and can travel a lot, so it's not too weird).

There's so many possibilities...there's no real "that has to be true" statement. I say we move on to something else and maybe return to this later. So, new topic: How did Moon Clefts get down there?

They fell from the moon over a thousand years ago during the great catastrophy and somehow got traped in the pit?

Didn't we talk about this in the cleft thread? Anyway, I had a list of what creatures were in the pit. I'll get it out later.

I checked and yeah, you're right, there is another topic. But why did they not adapt and every other one did?
|
|

Post by Meta Black Yoshi on Jul 17, 2007 0:13:12 GMT -5
Because they adapted that way over millions of years and the moon clefts have only been there for a thousand years?

So why are Moon Clefts deeper than normal ones?

Are moon clefts stronger than normal ones?

Yes.
The shadow queen puts stronger enemys in deeper levels so it got harder as you go further down. She could have gotten the clefts in any number of ways.

Why would she care?

Maybe she didn't, and they just wandered there way down and were strong enugh to survive in the lower level.
