And most Koopa Troopas are cowerdly anyway. Speaking of which, can anyone find a reference of a good Koopa calling himself Koopa Troopa? That might settle this dispute. (Troopas=Troops)

I don't agree that most Koopa Troopas are cowardly. I believe that there are probably many courageous and tough Koopa Troopas in the Mario Universe, especially those who work for Bowser.

There's a fine line between courageous and stupid, which the green ones are. The red ones are cowardly. (Said by instruction manuals.) Blue and yellow and smart and probably brave, but those don't make up the bulk of Koopas. Blue Paratroopas don't exist as far as we know, red ones stay in one little spot to hide, green ones are just as dumb as their counterparts, and yellow Paratroopas use cheap tactics, showing cowardice (jump when you jump.) Hammer Bros. are brave, Koopatrols are brave, Giant Koopas equal their counterparts, Lakitus are coward because they fly really high, and most others don't work for Bowser? In any case, they're either dumb or cowards for the most part, according to this evidence. I'm not saying they all are, just the bulk of them.

I would go as far as saying that shell color determines personality. That's like saying that people with red hair are braver than those with black hair. But in general, koopas do seem to be rather cowardly. Koops and Parakarry, along with various other koopas in the PM series tend to have a tend to not be very brave. And the koopas in SM64 are on of the few enemies that run away from you. Of corse, that doesn't mean that they're aren't any brave ones.

Colours mean nothing in personailties. As if a coloured shell is going to change a Koopa Troopa's personality. I don't remember anywhere in any instruction manual what says different shell coloured Koopas have different personalities. Since when did colour have effect on anyone's personality for that matter. Thats like saying a black cat is brave and a white cat isn't. See how silly it sounds..
Geez, some of my latest posts are nothing but criticisms of Nintendo's stupid mythology and thats coming from a Nintendo fan.

Look, I'm not basing this on opinion, I know it's weird, but the ones with different colors behave differently. You can't deny that. I'm not trying to criticize you. Maybe help you see the other side of things, but never criticize. I think it's in the SMB manual that says the red ones are cowardly.

It says that red ones are cowards because they stay on the ledges and don't go down and green ones are stronger because they do. But the red ones are actually smarter because green ones walk into pits and red ones stay put.
MORAL: Don't call people cowards just because they don't jump off clif ledges.

The leader of the Koopa Brothers has a red shell and he is far from being a coward. But anyway I don't go by everything what is said in the instruction manuals or even some of the games themselves. I have to admit things like storks carrying babies, colours affecting personality, marriage causing the end of the world and l337 hammer brothers are things what do put me off Nintendo although I do like playing those games. I do prefer fan fiction and theories better than the actual games.

Actually, Red Ninjakoopa does seem like a coward. He relies heavily on his teammates and machines and he tried to block Mario out rather than just fighting him. And I never said the shell instantly gives a magical effect to the Koopa who wears it, just maybe that Bowser gives shells to them based on their personalities, which seems more plausible. I will admit that the Koopas swapping shells and acting different in Yoshi's Island and Super Mario World is probably an in-game thing, though.

I don't think he does rely on them, they are a team and work as one. If he was alone he wouldn't rely on them. They don't always use machines, they sometimes battle unarmed as well.

The first time they fought they used Bullet Bill Blasters. The second time they used a Bowser Suit. And the last time they let Mario get beat up by Jr. Troopa instead. These all show cowardice. I've never seen them fight unarmed.

They did fight unarmed when the Bowser Suit was destroyed. However, they did avoid attacking individually.

Yeah, I knew that, but still, they did everything in their power to weaken or stop Mario before fighting him. Sounds pretty cowardly.

That's not cowardice, that's called "taking no chances". Considering Mario's track record, they'd want evey advantege they could get.

Well, that doesn't show bravery in any way either. All they wanted was exposure, not to help Bowser's cause.

Yet Bowser trusted them enough to give them the lead star spirit. He knew they were lame, but they were loyal and that's what bowser valued. And dispite all their boasting, the koopa bros aren't really all that stronger than regular koopas. Would you be very brave if you were a koopa who was face to face with the dreaded Mario?

The only reasons Bowser trusted them is because they have flashy moves and Kammy liked them for some reason. They just seem cowardly. Someone who was really brave would search out Mario and take him out that way.

Yes, but remember: The bad guys never look for the heroes. They let the heroes come to them. That way the baddies get a turf advantage, as well as potential for reinforcements and traps.

Well, I guess bad guys are cowards then...but not all of them. A couple search Mario out, like the Goomba Bros. And a few lead Mario to their place, which is still braver than pushing him out, like Bowser.

The ones that search Mario out are idiots. If you try to pick a fight with Mario, your going to lose.
