What about the dry bones, being possessed by their spirit? I have a pretty far-fetched theory on this: Well, necromancy is when you bring the dead to life, right? Perhaps special Boos(because they seem like likely candidates) known as Necroboos, can guide a spirit back into its body?

Why would the Boos care? For the most part all I've seen them have compasion for are themselves and other Boos. (And a Dry Bones/Koopa Kid is Boo's default partner, but that doesn't neccesarily mean they're friends.)

King boo works for bowser sometimes, that must mean they have good relations. Plus boos have been seen working for bowser lots of times.

So the Boos help Bowser out by bring Dry Bones back to life...? Makes sense, I suppose. But how did the ones in TTYD come to life? All of the ones in that game have no connection with Bowser or any Boos.

The onse at Hooktail's Castle were treasure hunters before they died, But they died trying to get the treausure and their souls can't rest until they have gotten the treasure. Being so close to the tresure they were seeking keeps their souls connected to the world but sense they can't get it they make sure that no one else can get it either by possesing their bones and warding off intruders.

What about the Palace of Shadow? Probably evil magic. But how did all the Koopas get there? Even if they could get in the palace, why did the remaining Koopas leave Rougeport? Wouldn't Ghost Goombas (SML2) seem more likely to make it into the palace?

Those koopas were probably put there to protect the area, and sense they would be gaurding it for thousands of years it would make sense if they were alredy dead so no one had to worry about them dieing and then having to replace them. Or maybe, they were gaurdians of it before they died too and when they did die Evil Dark magic brought their bones back to life. I don't understand the last two questions...

I'm just saying that it seems more likely for a Goomba to make it in the palace than a Koopa, because Goombas are common in Rougeport and Koopas aren't. Therefore, there should be Ghost Goombas and not Dry Bones. I also said that if Koopas managed to get into the Palace of Shadow (which would be hard) why would the Koopas that didn't check out the palace just leave for no reason?

goomba's are absolutly worthless though, and an evil demon could just import the koopa's. evil demon you know

Ghost Goombas are invincible though. They can't even be stunned. Why would the Shadow Queen show an interest in Koopas?

Goombas are stupid mushroom creatures. And the koopas in there have probably been there for thousands of years. The goombas at rougport probably havn't even been there for a whole week. The're probably just stoping by. More koopas live in rougeport than goombas. I think Frankly might actualy be the only goomba living there....

Hey, I find that offensive! Seriously, though, only one Koopa is shown in Rougeport, whereas Goombas make up the backbone of the town, along with Doogans, Bandits, Craws, and a few Toads and Piantas. Besides, quite a few of the Goombas know a lot of the backstory of the ancient treasure and whatnot.

Actualy, I think only one goomba knows about it. And his name was like know-it-all goomba or something. The other goombas are probably just there, maby on vacation or like peach and probably a lot of other charachters just passing through, taking a rest and mybe getting some good business. And koopas could have been to the area 1000 years ago befor rouge town was even built.

The lone Koopa would not be the only one there after several years of going there. Also, there's Frankly, the one who's outside his house, one in the right side of Central Square, and one in West Rougeport in the flower bed that also appear to live there. Possibly also that victim of credit card fraud. There's some underground that live there as well.

Rougeport is most likely a place where criminals go to hide out, frankly seems to be there just because of it's rich history.

Ghost Goombas are invincible though. They can't even be stunned. Why would the Shadow Queen show an interest in Koopas? If ghost goombas are what I think they are, then they're just as bad. besides, how do you know that goomba's were even there 1000 yrs. ago. The ones that have info could've just done some reasearch. Also koopa's as ghosts are very deadly so the queen could've used them so that when they died her palace would be even better protected

Maybe Rogueport was full of Koopas when the catastrophe happened. Because the old Rogueport is right near the Palace of Shadow, they could have been dragged in or something.

Who would want to live in a flower bed? Well I guess that goomba is kind of weird anyway.

I'm saying that not everyone could have died during the cataclysm. If they had, then there would've been no way the four heros could have survived long enough to stop it. Also, only a few Goombas seem to be criminals. In fact, the only one that seemed to do anything bad was McGoomba. (The one in the back alley.) One gambles too, but apparantly that's completely legal on ME. Dry Bones can be killed with fire and explosions, and can be stunned with a jump (and alsoo beaten instantly with any magic in SMRPG), whereas you can even faze Ghost Goombas.

The only game i've seen with ghost goombas is in SML2, and that game had a lack of power-ups. If they were in a RPG they wouldn't be that hard to beat.
