It's hard to tell. Either it's the Koopa Kingdom or a highly infested section of Yoshi's Island. (They don't have the convienant movie that shows Yoshi blowing up castles in DS.)

Well if it's on yoshi's island that would prove that shy guy came from or at least settled on yoshi's island. But since world 4 was the mountain world it might be in the koopa kingdom like the origanal yoshi's island. It wouldn't make sence for yoshi to go all the way up to the mountain just to go down again.

Hmmm. Perhaps the last worlds are in the sky, high above the second to last worlds, maby even very close to the edge of space on some kind of big floating mass(mineral?) That would explain alot. Yoshi's good breath holding skills probably came in handy.

I doubt it. Possibly the one in Yoshi's Island but not in DS because there's lots of vegetation and Bowser's Castle flies (it wouldn't have anywhere to go).

I've got it! World five in YIDS is on a island in the sky. Before it was released, nintendo said that it revolved around a island in the sky. So that is the best bet for world 5, now back to shy guys.

So you agree with my theory right? Well then I say that shyguys are trible sppecies that originated in dinosaure land specificaly Yoshi's Island but a great manny have spread out over the year and have gone to other places adopting the culturs of their new habitat's inhabitans and doing away with their own tribal ways. While others remained on Yoshi Island and still act like savages...:/

I don't like the idea that shy guys are from yoshi's island. Unfortunatly I don't have any arguments against it.

Why don't you like the idea?

I just don't.
On a related subject, have you seen the sniffaro enemy from M&L:PIT? It seems to suggest that shy guys have been arround for a long time.

Dang, you're right...that confuses everything...one of the two wears normal clothes...rocket power available to ancient people...Shy Guys existing in a place where few others do...augh! It's all so confusing! My brain hurts.

Shyguys seem to be everywhere though. I always assumed them came from the toybox in PM. Mabye that toybox is connected to the surface world in other places besides that building in Toad Town.

I think the toybox was made by bowser so all the shy guys would serve him.

I highly doubt that toy box is older than the ruins in Gritzy Caves. You're mostly right about the Shy Guys being everywhere, except they were never in a desert except for Gritzy Caves, Sub-con, and world 6 of Yoshi's Island, which are all different ones.

Hmm... well it COULD be that the Shyguys came about from a mysterious clan of underground assassins... I mean come on, the whole mask thing in combination with those suits... eventually a veritable society was formed, complete with its own military force and such. Spyguys are a more advanced group of assassins, and those Bandits have a keen eye for money, suggesting such a lineage is possible.

Shy guys don't really strike me as assassins, they seem more like the type who just want to have fun.

Assassins travel alone for the most part, whereas Shy Guys are almost always in a group.

Thought I'd bring this up...In Mario Strikers Charged, Shy Guys can make facial expressions with their masks. I'm thinking it's a non-canon bonus, what about you guys?

Don't know; Bandits can do that too...
