He suggested it a while ago but anyway.
The domes that arn't green and have other plant life growing on them could have outer bark. There's more than one type of dome!

That would be weird if a tree had bark growing on the outside of it. You know like outside of the leaves and whole tree. Or would there even be leaves in the inside. Or maby it'd be more like some kind of tree stump. I still think it's just leaves mixed in with dirt....

Accually, I think I may have found the awnser. It involes a tiny SPM spoiler, but nothing major. One of the fighters in chapter six calls him self "hill with eyes" saying how he can see eyerything. So I guess this means they really are hills...that are alive.

That wouldn't make much sense. Sure, Mr. I's exist and they're only eyes, but the dome eyes are definately part of a bigger being.

So the only matter is: which game do we trust? Pros and cons for each: MG: TT Pros -Came first -Suggests a closer living being, a tree, rather than a hill -Explains "growing" Cons -Is a sports game, maybe not canon -Hard for trees to get as big as some of the domes -Star World dome does not look like a tree SPM Pros -Definately considered canon -Explains large size -Hills can exist anywhere Cons -Hard to imagine living hills -Came out after MG: TT -Does not explain "growing"

You say it's hard to imagine living hills, but look at games like MK:DD, even the rocks have faces in that game. (personally, I think they went a little overboard with it in some areas) Perhaps it's a combonation of the two, the dome shape is first made by a hill, and then plant material grows over it, giving it it's green color and leafy exterior.

In that list I wasn't trying to express personal opinions, just possible complications. And of course there's always the possibility of MK: DD! not being canon.

I consider all sports games cannon. Also, we shouldn't take the SPM refrence too seriously. It's just a small refrence, like the "mustard of doom" sammer guy.

The biggest issue I have with sports games is that how are the people on ME supposed to know a sport exactly like ours, with little communication between the two planets?

I say they get it from people who accidentilly go through warp pipes. Considering humans in the Mushroom world are the only creature identical to a to a creature that lives on Earth, I would think that they did originally come from Earth. Although we can't really say how long ago this happened.
