Well, if the green Yoshi of SMW2 and Yoshi Touch & Go is the same green Yoshi of SMW, then that would be a good clue.

The Yoshi's in SMW2 have to be like, in their 50's or something by now.
( their supposed age added onto Mario's )
And I think Yoshi was very young around SMW.

Okay, so the green Yoshi in SMW2 is not the same one that's in SMW?

How could he be the same Yoshi? All his friends are babies.

I think that was more of a gameplay thing then part of the story line. It just adds a little more challenge to the gameplay. Yoshi's friends probably were just trapped in an egg just like Yoshi was. The only yoshi game I don't think Marios green yoshi freiend starred in is Yoshi's Story. The yoshi's in that game had just hacthed yet Bowser was still a baby. And YS obviously takes plase after Yoshi's Island since Bowser says somthing about the yoshi's bewing Marios pets.

I'm for saying that the SMW2 Yoshi is the Yoshi of the sports and party games.

I second that. All the green yoshi's are the same one except for the Yoshi's Story one.

Nintendo has stated a few times the Yoshi is a dinosaur. They never mention anything about dragons or frogs or lizard or anything else I've heard yoshi refered to as.

Native home is "Dinosaur Land".

Toomai:The term dragon coin hasn't been used since SMW. Nintendo probably hadn't decided what to classify Yoshi at that time, The seem to have made up their mind since then though. ------- Yoshi Mastar: True, yet yoshis aren't the only dinosaurs in Dinosuar Land

Yoshi Mastar: True, yet yoshis aren't the only dinosaurs in Dinosuar Land Yes I know there's Dino Rhinos and others. And on a new discovery in PM2 on the train there's a Yoshi who says "What am I doing here I need to be with my lovely wife!" Or something like that. This must show there's both male and female Yoshi's and they both reproduce asexually, so they don't have to mate.

The title of "wife" may be in status only. For example, it might be that a typical yoshi "family" consists of a patriarchal figure (the father), a matriarchal figure (the mother) and the child itself. The "mother" would be the yoshi which actually gave birth to the child, while the "father" would be a kind of surrogate guardian; both would be essential for the survival of the offspring. The mother yoshi would tend to the child itself, while the father yoshi would act as more of a hunter-gatherer and provide food and protection for the other two.
Another theory may be that yoshis do, in fact, have seperate genders; both of which lay eggs for seperate reasons. The female would lay eggs for reproduction purposes and would still need to be fertilized by the male. The male, on the other hand, would lay eggs for the defensive/offensive purposes, which we are all well accustomed to (i.e. the ability to throw exploding eggs and so forth).

Or, Yoshis can choose what an egg is for.

In which case, it seems that the first theory would be more probable.
