I personally think Yoshi "shoes" are hooves. When they hatch, they have shoes on them already. So they must be shoe-like hooves.
On a different note, why is it that newborn Yoshis look different from SMW and Yoshi's Island? The ones in SMW looked squashed but the ones in YI looked more like mini-adults. Then agian, the Yoshis in SMW were trapped in thoes eggs by magic, so maybe the magic made them looked squashed?

Seems plausible.

I'd say it's just how they where disigned by the makers.
Yoshi's in Yoshi's Island needed a differnt look to encompass all of their moves. Think about the SMW Yoshi trying to throw an egg.

I think he was talking about the babies, not the adults.

Oh yeah, well remember what I just said.
Plus this: the age of the Yoshi's in YI is unknown.
They could be young adults or reletivly mature.

Very true. And in the same regard, we know nothing about how long Yoshis live.

Taking into account the life span of most reptiles, I'd say the same as us. So like 80, 95 years? That seems good. And according to my script for my movie I should make ( based upon Yoshi's Island ), the blue Yoshi is the oldest of the group. As is most likly to fight the bosses to protect his younger friends. And because blue Yoshi's kick anus.

Oh, Yoshi's Story! Lol, that makes alot more sense. I was trying to figure out where in Yoshi's Island they might have shown a baby Yoshi, but I kept drawing a blank.
Hmm, I keep forgetting that the Yoshi's in YS are juviniles.
Oh wait! Here's a really important question. If it's already been established that Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Story were basically story books, can we really trust what is shown to us in those games to their full extent? What I'm saying is, do you think some things might have been stretched a bit since they were only story books?

That's possible, but since there's no proof, I don't think we should draw that conclusion.

lol What do you mean there's no proof? We can actually see the pages turning as we play through the games. ^_^

Ohhhh. Yeah, in Yoshi's Story (and even in Yoshi's Island to an extent) you can see that the bachgrounds are made out of cardboard and you can see the pages turning and everything.

Well obviously the levels arn't made of cardboard and crayon.

That's my point, though. I think those two games are just stories that are being told, and thus have some questionability in terms of being canon. So I don't know.

Nah, just replace the Vincent Van Gogh scenery with some real lookin stuff and it's fine.
Yes, the makers completely posed off Van Gogh but they did a great job.

The scenery like the big trees, clouds, snowy mountains, stars and moon, some other things are resembling several art peices by Van Gogh.
Mostly notable "Stary Night" as seen in 6-7, Keep Moving.

I think the reason baby Yoshis looked different in SMW from how they looked in YS is the SMW Yoshis had just hatched. That's how all Yoshis look immediately after they hatch. The YS Yoshis were a little bit older and had already began to look like grown Yoshis a little bit.
