What if I can get Artemendo to either hand over the site or delete it permanently, then reopen it under my own control?
That way, it'll never be closed again, I can just readd the articles by everyone else with permission (bar maybe Artemendo's) and also get the benefit of its links to my own sites and such.
Is this a good idea?

This is a subject I'm not too familiar with, and I'm not intending to encroach, but I do believe that the Internet Archive may hold some of the Waluigious database. Perhaps not related to the topic, but if one is searching for a log of the site, that may help.

Why all the negativity? Seems kind of harsh to actually want a site with fans and potential to shut down and have no chance of being recovered. Also, did you get my e-mail? Because I'm starting to wonder whether either not many people are online or whether gmail is blocked by various e-mail providers, because of how rarely I get responses there.

Waluigious was just a plain old blogspot site. You don't even need to pay to make one of those. I might have gone ahead and made a replacement site a few years ago, but I'm just too busy these days.
But there's nothing stopping anyone else here from making one. I'd be happy to contribute some content.

Oh, hey, did Artemendo just come here ?
Why should Waluigious be deleted forever anyway ? I mean, I can see why you'd stop taking care of it because of rea-life problems, but I don't see the point in getting rid of Waluigious when it could stay alive and be taken care of by someone else. Except if the blog's existence, even if deleted then recreated, is a problem to you.

Wouldn't have the Waluigious URL though, meaning a new site would have to start from scratch and lose prior visitors.
That's why I wanted him to delete it.
I never got exactly what his problem is with remaking Waluigious to be honest. It seems rather selfish to close down a website and then refuse to let anyone else take over or something.

I'm really sorry for all those who were fans of Waluigious, but... Waluigious had a very strong stylistic identity which I tried to maintain in every post and feature. If you wanted to "continue" Waluigious, to put it bluntly, you'd need me for it to be truly the same place. It was my project, I envisioned it, I designed it and I gave it its character. If you want to continue it in spirit by just having a blog with Mario philosophy articles, please do not use a name I tried so hard to be associated with a certain aesthetic flair. If you are missing some of your articles or need Reed's for your own site (assuming you have his permission), I still have them. Please don't call it Waluigious, though. Hey, mariosophy.com is not taken!

Hey, mariosophy.com is not taken! I guess I understand that. But does that mean if anyone runs a future site, your articles are off limits in general? Because they were fun to read, and it's a bit sad you didn't even send them to other Mario fan sites to host. Myself though, I'm probably not gonna run a blog like Waluigious. Sure, I give full permission for all my old articles to be reposted wherever you like. In fact, I'd be honoured with that, and I'd like it even more if you linked to my future sites at the end of them so I can benefit SEO wise. Don't worry, none of it overlaps with my future book content. If anyone needs Reed's stuff, it's here: www.mediafire.com/?vsy6y9r4f9ksnsuAsk him first though. But it's not for me. I have forums and stuff to run and a new site about Mario 3D Land to help the owner with (mario3dlandnews.com), and those will take time. I do have to wonder a few things though: 1. what happens when Waluigious.com runs out? Doesn't artemendo lose his e-mail account? 2. Why did he quit Waluigious without warning? Did the army come to his door? The police burst in after he downloaded Mario ROMs without permission? Him go bankrupt? If only this one mystery could be cleared up, myself and many others (aka, every affiliate site webmaster that Waluigious was associated with and DK Vine) could finally 'rest' happy.

My articles were tied with the identity of the blog. Rehosting them without the framework of Waluigious makes them lose context and authenticity.
1. Yes, the account gets closed. There's no need for it anymore.
2. You'll sooner solve the mystery of L Is Real 2041.

I registered here just because I wanted to say that I'm sorry to hear about the shut down of Waluigious. The site, as well as its content will definitely be missed.
I wish you good luck in the future, Artemendo.

We could still make a Mariosophy blog (*cough*) but re-upload Waluigious' articles in a special "Waluigious Memorial" section or something. As such, they're still here for everyone to see them but won't be continued, and won't be the blog's point.

The reason I deleted the blog in the first place is that I DON'T want my articles to be online. So please stop talking about conserving Waluigious, I deleted it so you can't.

Well, no need to keep talking about it then.
On another note, I still think we should try doing our own Mariolosophy blog. I think Artemendo would yell at us for calling it Warious though. It could also cover Mariology stuff, so it'd be a blog for Mariology, Mariosophy and why not Mario news. Yeah, I'm just dreaming...

Well if we all contributed a little bit, I don't think it would be too hard for any one person to maintain.
Also, Warious is kind of a stupid sounding name...

... *sigh*
Well, at least one thing's sure: Waluigious is game over'd. No more 1UPs. This is sad, but, hey, at least the ride was fun. Who here supports the idea of making our own blog ?

I've been planning to make a Mario blog for about a month, and I finally opened it yesterday. I'll link to it on here once I have a couple of posts. Artemendo will be helping me maintain it. Good to hear!
