a.k.a. What happens when I don't have nothing better to do. Wait, actually I do. But, heh, it's fun. Note that there are magical AND logical abilities. For instance, Mario's fire powers are magical, but Luigi's Luigi Rocket is logical (as it doesn't involve an illogic energy but instead only strength). And, finally, I don't care about continuity. However I'll only count techniques that appeared in Mario games - for instance, if a move is only in a Smash Bros. game, it won't be listed here. The only exceptions are Final Smashes. Oh, and basic moves such as the High Jump, Spin Jump... aren't counted.
- Fire Orb / Super Flame / Ultra Flame
Description: Mario shoots an incredibly large amount of gigantic fireballs at the enemies in a short time.
Type: Special Attack (fire)
First appearance: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Latest appearance: Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Note: Very powerful and dangerous. May come from an overdose of Fire Flowers. Mario seemingly forgot how to use this attack, maybe due to a lack of training.
- Firebrand and related fire abilities
Description: Mario generates a bit of fire. He can also put things on fire, and use it underwater.
Type: Normal Attack (fire)
First appearance: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Latest appearance: Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games
Note: Quite weak. Learnt by the Fire God. A object can be entirely put on fire immediately, but the effect may be limited depending of the size of the object.
- Spin / Star Spin
Description: Mario does a powerful spin powered-up by his own skills and by Star energy.
Type: Normal Attack (physical + magic)
First appearance: Super Mario Galaxy
Latest appearance: Super Mario Galaxy 2
Note: Used during Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. Maybe that the beige Luma left a bit of star energy to Mario, allowing him to still execute a weaker version of the Star Spin. Is a mix of the Star Spin and the Spin Jump.
- Fiery Metal Mario
Description: Mario transforms into Metal Mario and uses his Firebrand to become a burning metal man.
Type: Mega Strike (fire + metal)
First appearance: Mario Strikers Charged
Latest appearance: Mario Strikers Charged
Note: Ridiculously powerful, but only seen once. It's unknow how Mario got the ability to transform into his metal form without a Metal Cap. Due to the power of this attack, it may only be used in extremely urgent cases.
- Mario Finale
Description: Mario throws two big fire balls that move in a way to imitate an energy blast. It's like a down-graded verson of the Fire Orb. It doesn't hurt too much but it can be used to push opponents away.
Type: Final Smash (fire)
First appearance: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Latest appearance: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Note: As the name says, it's Mario's finisher attack. Surprisingly enough it's somewhat weak, but Mario apparently enjoys using it.
- Green Fire
Description: Luigi's version of the Fire Orb, but the fire is green. Note that green fire can be made.
Type: Special Attack (fire)
First appearance: Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Latest appearance: Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games
Note: It's unknow when or where Luigi learnt this attack. It may also come from an overdose of Fire Flowers, or Mario learnt him how to do it.
- Luigi Rocket
Description: Luigi uses his own strength to launch himself like a missile.
Type: Normal Attack (physical)
First appearance: Super Smash Bros. Melee
Latest appearance: Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games
Note: Sometimes very strong, sometimes ridiculously weak. This attack is somewhat random. Can be used to reach a far distance that can't be reached with a Long Jump. Well, if the move doesn't fail at least...
- Luigi Cyclone
Description: Luigi spins so fast that he flies, or even creates a cyclone.
Type: Special Attack (physical)
First appearance: Super Smash Bros.
Latest appearance: Mario Super Sluggers
Note: Quite powerful. Luigi must be stronger than it appears, because creating a whole cyclone by yourself is the kind of quality the strongest superhero would have.
- Thunderhand
Description: Luigi generates a bit of electricity, and can fill an object with electricity. However it may be limited by the size of said object.
Type: Normal Attack (electricity)
First appearance: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Latest appearance: Mario Strikers Charged
Note: Very weak. Learnt by the Thunder God. Can be used underwater. Luigi rarely uses it.
- Negative Zone
Description: Luigi does a bizarre dance that creates a zone of negative energy around him. Anyone else than Luigi who enters this zone feels sick, depressive, hurt, delirious, bored... and can't move well. Plus Luigi becomes multiple times stronger in this zone.
Type: Final Smash (magic + darkness)
First appearance: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Latest appearance: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Note: This attack is a reflection of the dark side Luigi obtained in Mario's shadow. Is Luigi secretly an evil wizard or something ? In any ways, this attack is extremely powerful. No wonder this is Luigi's ultimate move.
- PSI
Description: Peach can use psychic powers to do things such as creating a thunderbolt, move distant objects around...
Type: Normal Attack (psychic)
First appearance: Mario Tennis
Latest appearance: Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
Note: Peach seriously lacks training due to her duty as a kingdom ruler, and thus her powers are almost unexisting. However, if she's powered-up (i.e. by the Shadow Queen, or by Starlow), her powers can be devasting. Note that people of the Mushroom Kingdom think it's magic. If she could train, maybe that she'd beat Bowser easily...
- Heart-related moves
Description: Peach's heart is so pure that, with her psychic powers, she can convert her purity into a powerful, heart-shaped energy that can have multiple effects: moving distant objects, acting on other people's feelings, or simply hurt.
Type: Special Attack (psychic)
First appearance: Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Latest appearance: Mario Super Sluggers
Note: Peach is probably the only person in the whole universe to still have a pure heart.
- Float
Description: Peach can float in the air for a short period of time. Originally she had to do it using her dress, but recently she's got stronger and can do it by holding herself with PSI.
Type: Normal Attack (psychic)
First appearance: Super Mario Bros. 2
Latest appearance: Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games
Note: While her umbrella allows her to fall slower, her Float ability actually allows her to defy gravity. For a short time, that's it.
- Empress Peach
Description: Peach grows wings and her crown becomes bigger and looks like a halo. In that form, her psychic powers are over-multiplicated.
Type: Mega Strike (fly + psychic)
First appearance: Mario Strikers Charged
Latest appearance: Mario Strikers Charged
Note: Peach's EX form. It may be about her psychic powers because she can hit the ball with moving her hands but withtout touching it.
- Peach Blossom
Description: Peach does a strange dance and the zone surrounding her becomes trapped by peach trees and pictures of her. People (but her) in that aera fall asleep and suffer at the same time. The closer they are to Peach, the deeper their sleep will be and the more they'll be hurt. Then peaches fall from the sky.
Type: Final Smash (magic)
First appearance: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Latest appearance: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Note: This attack can be used by Peach to defend herself and escape, but... why does she never use it ? Does she like to be kidnapped by Bowser or something ?
- Egg Roll
Description: Yoshi traps himself in an egg and can roll around at very fast speeds. All Yoshis can do that, but it's extremely hard - sometimes impossible - for them. Yoshi, on the other side, can do it easily.
Type: Normal Attack (physical)
First appearance: Super Smash Bros. Melee
Latest appearance: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Note: This move is more based on speed than strength. Yoshi used it in Mario Power Tennis.
- Rainbow-related moves
Description: Yoshi is always so happy that, using magic, he can give his happiness and excitement to an object. For instance, a golf ball will go farther, or a baseball ball will jump in every direction. That happiness looks like a rainbow.
Type: Special Attack (magic)
First appearance: Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour
Latest appearance: Mario Super Sluggers
- Tongue
Description: Unlike other Yoshis, Yoshi's tongue is so long that he can grab something 50 ft away with it.
Type: Normal Attack (physical)
First appearance: Super Mario World
Latest appearance: Super Mario Galaxy 2
Note: Yoshi's tongue is sticky so he can use it to eat something far away.
- Super Dragon
Description: Yoshi transforms. He grows wings, can spit fireballs and breath fire. Additionally, he creates earthquakes when he stomps the ground. However he eventually comes back to normal.
Type: Special Attack / Final Smash / Mega Strike (fire + fly + earth)
First appearance: Super Mario World
Latest appearance: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Note: Very, very powerful. Basically Yoshi's true power, to compensate his weak attacks and moves. However he once needed to eat an Invincible Shell to get this ability.
Upcoming: Bowser.
MARIO
