... How the hell does the Chuckolator from Superstar Saga work? Physics? Anyone? It's created by jokes/laughter. Or for the other 'this makes no biological sense/could never evolve list': Cuckoo Condor Smorg The Black Jewel Jarvis (Luigi's Mansion) This, which is apparently a highly mutated... mouse: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFrKU3zM2rM&feature=relatedThe Mario series, the only setting where maybe evolution isn't able to explain everything? On the bright side, Mario makes a GREAT argument about why Intelligent Design is complete rubbish, because the only thing that could possibly ever be explained as 'irreducible complexity' or whatever their latest junk 'science' is would be Cuckoo Condor.

Jarvis is a ghost who spent a looooong time in a jar. As such, his ectoplasm morphed to fit a jar-shape to accomadate him. as fortheothers, no clue.

What is "Cuckoo Condor" ?
Anyway, this is basically how it works: - Throw the Chuckola Beans (or whatever they're called) in a barrel of syrup - Tell jokes so that the beans have lulz and make bubbles - ? ? ? - Toasty !
I personally think Mario & Luigi 1's story is anything but serious. The high number of laughing faces in this game should show it's quite obvious. How come Luigi can perfectly imitate Peach's voice ? How come Bowser, when possessed by Cackletta, becomes female ? How come Luigi can transform into a surf board ? The answer is: this game is extremely comical. Nothing should be taken seriously in it.
EDIT: Also, aren't Smorgs experiments of the X-Nauts ? They ARE cross-shaped after all...

Yeah, it was actually said by the guys over at AlphaDream that Superstar Saga was supposed to be the one game that would take all that everyone knew about Mario, Luigi, and RPG games in general and throw it all out the window.
So now, the Bros are actually cartoon characters, we got an ugly witch (sorry, family site,) with her mentally broken lackey, and Bowser develops amnesia.
...I'll still Bowser's Inside Story over this any day, however.

This is Cuckoo Condor: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lN6409RFY6cWhat you don't see is that any eggs you hold too long... explode. As do any chicks left to run around for too long. Or that it fires lasers and buzsaws. It's completely... insane to the point of being comical. And we still have to take Mario and Luigi seriously, anything which happens in a Mario game, is by any means 'canon' to the series.

It is canon, but it's from a very comical and parodying point of view. It's a bit like thinking the mouse cursor, 2D -> 3D, and paper style of Super Paper Mario are canon.

Still, that doesn't answer the question. Because the Chuckolator exists and gets stronger based on jokes regardless of style or gameplay issues.

I never said that it wasn't canon. I was just agreeing with Koop that the game was anything but serious.
Why else would we have the Bros becoming fashion designers and Luigi having more than one identity crisis?
Edit: Niiiiiinjaaaaaaa'd...

Alright, but then don't analyze it seriously because it's anything but serious. Well, Chuckola Cola becomes tastier and tastier when you tell it jokes. Considering the Chuckolator has been hearing jokes for 1000 years, he must have grown extremely strong... literraly. Like strong alcohol, except he's physically strong. It's a joke. After all Chuckola Cola does parody vine.

Quote by everyone: "It's a joke" endquote
That's the most disappointing thing I've ever heard on this forum! I take M&L at face value, you know. There's no reason why Luigi can't talk in a high voice - notice that it doesn't have to be Peach's voice perfectly.

There's no reason Luigi can transform into a surf board, Bowser can grow a chest and... heck, the whole game is a joke. Everything is joke-based. Unlike other Mario games, M&L1 should really not be taken seriously, because it's not. To compensate, M&L2 has the most depressing and serious story you'll see in a Mario RPG. But tons of things in M&L1 don't make sense and can't really make sense.

Don't underestimate the power of laughter. Also Smorg and Mutant Mouse don't seem that improbable on an alien planet. Cuckoo Condor was in a seperate world and was altered due to the Golden Diva's magic. Black Jewel is a demonic artifact, much like Majora's Mask is.

Smorg is an X-Naut experiment that fed on the smoke of the Excess Express until it got big enough to kidnap the passengers. (The Smorg that Mario saw on the second day was before it started feeding)

Honestly, I think that the Smorg isn't tied to the X-Nauts at all. It just kind of appears from nowhere.

Perhaps the smorg are some type of desert mold? They kinda look like mold... >.> I agree with what smbmaster said about Jarvis. I think the Chuckolator is sort of like a colony of organisms (beans) that all work together to form one being and then then they can attack in unison.

Honestly, I think that the Smorg isn't tied to the X-Nauts at all. It just kind of appears from nowhere. I'm 100% sure the Smorgs are made by the X-Nauts. They look a lot like those green X creatures. Heck, the X itself is the mark of the X-Nauts, and Smrogs are X shaped. That makes more sense than "they come from nowhere".

Then why were they in a random train station rather than some place significant? They're kind of shaped like Yuxes, but it's a passing resemblance at best.

The X-Nauts threw them here to stop Mario's progression so that Beldam could have more time to make the train explode.

You don't see them in any of the laboratories, despite ransacking their entire headquarters. Also, none of the dialogue or in-game text says that they're from the X-Nauts. Also, none of the members of the X-Nauts ever reached the bottom floor of the train station when Mario was there. Remember that it was still locked by an old-fashioned padlock.
