As you can see from SMG2, the MW is now orbited by 6 moons (while the original "moon" isn't there anymore). The reason for this is unknow, and many different theories are made (effects of SMG1's "new big bang" ? Change of canon ? Nothing special much ? Not definitive ?) but I still observated those "moons" and thus could make a list (and drawings) of them. And, with a little bonus, fan-made names of 3 of those moons. img59.imageshack.us/img59/833/pizzaux.pngDiscuss. How should we fan-name them (until official informations), what caused this major change, etc. Personally, I like this change. It makes the MW more original.

So here's a point about this... where are the area specific moons in the other games? Like the Yoshi's Island one (which is only seen over Yoshi's Island) or the one in Crescent Moon Village which is probably close enough to knock the roof off a nearby building?
As for naming, I wish I could help there, but anything I can think of seems a bit cliche and rather corny sounding.

Perfect. We got Twilight Town, Dry Dry Desert, and Lavalava Island. Let's see what you got.
Edit: I just realized that I, apparently, play too much Paper Mario. XP

I always thought of that SMG stuff more like the rings of saturn than moons. Their a little small for that. I think the YI one falls in to that category too. The real moon seems like the one from PM2. It was way bigger than any of those little things in the galaxy games.

I'm talking about the moons you see from the World Selection (a.k.a. Map of the Universe a.k.a. where you choose a world).
I personally think Twilight Town's eternal night isn't a true night, more like a malediction that makes as if the aera was plunged in the twilight with a giant moon. As for the little moons in SMW2, they were too small to be considered as true moons and were rather crap-flying-around orbiting the planet (like some "galaxies" in SMG and SMG2).

I wonder why it only shows the ME and its moons on the World Select screen though when ME isn't really a level.

I know everyone is tired of hearing my Theory, but I'll state it anyway! After SMG2, Mario used the Grand Star's Power to put all of the Galaxys back in their Place, some back on the Mushroom Earth, others back on their Original Planets. I mean, Mario's near Omnipotent with the Stars, the least he culd do is fix Yoshis' House! Especially considering they never rescued Yoshis' Friends(Isn't that the reason Yoshi helped in the first Place?)! Oh well, thats just my 2 Cents anyway.

They never mentioned Yoshi's friends in SMG2, Yoshi was helping simply to be helpful (and he doesn't like Bowser at this point)

In the Sky Station Galaxy, on the roof of Yoshi's house, a signpost wrote by Yoshi tells you that he's not home, as he went to rescue his friends. But I think it was more of a SMW reference than anything, if the Yoshi you see through the whole game is the same character. kingkoopa : The "world selection" screen shows the background of those worlds. I mean, World 1's background is indeed the MW (and the "Windy moon" also appears. The Spin-Dig moon also appears undirectly, as the Spin-Dig Galaxy is located inside), World 2's bakground is a solar system...

Yeah, I was going to Post that... But Koopalmier beat me too It! Well, maybe I should make a Topic about my Theory, because I'e Posted it in like 10... Also, I just remembered Paper Mario is called Mario Story in Japan, so it would make sense if it was a Storybook retelling of his actual Adventure!

Actually it's been the same since ever. SMG2's post-credits scene basically tells you the narrator of Mario games is Rosalina.

But you actually witness some of his Games, not retellings of them! SMG2, PM, and maybe PM2 were Narrated, but the rest were Not.

SMW2 has a narrator. PM has a narrator. PM2 has a narrator. M&L2 has a narrator. SPM has a narrator. SMG has a narrator. SMG2 has a narrator. M&L3 has a narrator.
Rosalina also says at the start of SMG that she's been watching Mario since very long.

Hey! What if the Spin-Dig Galaxy(Or rather, the Planet it's In), was Wario's Planet that he sold to the Mushroom World to be used as a Mining Colony?! That would be Cool, and explain what happened to Wario''s Planet!

Maybe that she saw the 7 stars (you know, the story of the Star Children, all that stuff) falling on the MW and observated who'd get those stars. And Mario caught her attention (maybe because he survived Kamek's attack and landed right on Yoshi ?).
Or she predicted he'd eventually save the world and choosed to observate him.

I don't think we should consider the Story of YIDS completely Canon, because the Ages of the Characters doesn't match-up with PiT!
|
|
|
Post by Koopalmier on Aug 3, 2010 15:45:08 GMT -5
In PiT, Peach is some months younger than the Mario bros. YIDS happens some months after SMW2. Bowser is still older than the crew. How does that not match up ?

YIDS wasn't saying that they were all born at the exact same time. For all we know Baby Donkey Kong could be 4 and Baby Peach could be 1 while at that time the Baby Marios were 3.
