Or maybe they got to ME by their own, some way or another?

Heres a preatty far fetched idea I just thought up. Maby the onse on ME used to be iron clefts on the moon or somewhere else. And they somehow escaped from wherever they were and headed twards ME. When they entered the atmosphere instead of being vaporized, sinse they were irong clefts they just became smaller clefts like the kind that are found on ME today...By the way, mechanical things don't have to be made of metal. They could be made of stone too. They could have metl parts on the inside of them or the could even have stone parts on the inside too. It really just depends on what kind of machien it is....

Clefts aren't mechanical, there made of stone. No I meant like bio made. The Yux aren't robots, they're grown and yet synthetic.

I don't think the x-nuats created the clefts, they seem native to the moon.

a meteorite of a large enough size could survive the Earth's atmosphere. Perhaps the Moon Clefts formed a large formartion, encased themselves inside a substance that would keep them from separating, and then went down to ME? Most would probably be incinerated, but some in the middle would survive.

Earths moon was part of the earth before it was broken off. So maybe the clefts origionated on ME and ended up on the moon, they seem one of only creatures that could survive there.

I don't think the x-nuats created the clefts, they seem native to the moon. Why? Nothing else lives there. Or could live there for that matter. There's air obviously but no organic substances whatsoever. Heh he... man I'm good...

They could process minerals from rock... Plus, I don't think there's much air there. So they would adapt to be able to breathe the little amounts of air present.

In super paper mario, bald clefts discise themseves as rocks then they attack. I'm thinking that they evolved into rock like shapes in order to hunt better.
(and yes, I have nothing better to do than watch previews of super paper mario)

That makes more sense than the theory that they're actually made of rocks. [5 th's in a row FTW]

Could be something to do with the whole dimensional twistage thing.

Maybe regular clefts have died off or just become less common. It makes sense because they don't have as good of a camoflauge as the other cleft types. Their spikes did provide extra defence but, unless your going up against Mario on a daily basis, the defense of the average bald cleft is more than adequate.
