Here is my theory on this:
The climate of the Ice World is probably like Alaska or the Alps, which could explain the mass existence of ice in this region. Areas like Cool, Cool Mountain, Frappe Snowland and Shiver City, I believe may be located in the Ice World. It is located in the south-east of the Mushroom Kingdom.

Um, wouldn't ice locations be north, not south of the mushroom kingdom.
Proof: The SMB3 map.

The SMB3 map alone proves nothing, my map theory is of all the games put together and I don't usually go by the game maps anyway.

Not really, no. I go by my own map, which I have been working on for over a year. A lot I still have yet to add in of course since I have never palyed any Gamecube or DS games as I don't own either console.

I only have it drawn out and a few places actually on it, I really need a decent map making software, which I can't find anywhere.

I Drew up a map once. But then more games came out and I have to adjust it a little bit. I think it would be best to go with what game maps say and then try to fill in the holes.

Here's mine: Mushroom Kingdom based on Paper Mario map, SMB3 area partially based on SMB3 Advanced map, mostly based on actual game maps. A lot of the blank space can be shifted to your preferences. Not sure which pole it's located in, but either way it needs warps to reach it.

Anyway. Shouldn't all of our maps try to stay true to the games. There are plenty of other places where personal prefrence could be added, but things that were clearly shoiwn in the games should be considered if you ask me...

Why should they be closer? Mario couldn't have walked there.
I also use Flash to make these.

That map looks quite cool. Just one question, where is world 8?
I did try it once in Paint but had trouble adding everything in and all the text was really small when I zoomed out.

Asuming that both of these maps have North in the ^ direction, World 6 needs to be East of world 1, closer to world 7.

Bah. Foolish game makers not caring about cannonisity.
World 8 is part of the Mushroom kingdom continent but waaaay to the west, past the Rogueport area.
