That's what I'm talking about. Instead of an ocean of unfinished-gameness, we get hills, which is more acceptable.

No, we had hills in the original 64 too. What I'm talking about is on the other side of the hills. It's all just ocean, as far as the eye can see, which prompts me to believe that Bowser somehow transplanted to castle from its original location in the Mushroom Kingdom, to somewhere out in a large body of water.

Well, we have two conflicting sources: the bottom screen map shows no ocean while the view on the top screen shows ocean. Since these two contradict each other, I think we should go with the one that harmonizes with the rest of the games, the bottom screen map.

Wait, you're gonna trust a mini-map over the actual game footage? That just doesn't seem right.

We're talking about what's beyond that, YoshiMastar.

Fine then use the Paper Mario map

We have, and it shows that the castle is in the middle of a landmass. But the problem is that the castle is seemingly in the middle of the ocean in SM64.

I'm aware of it. Bowser lifted up the castle and floated it over the nearby ocean. He could have done this after Mario entered the castle.

I just thought I'd say this:
Using the magic and power of the stars in M64, Bowser was able to seal some doors in Peaches castle. Once Mario got enough stars he could break the seal and enter.
Fighting Bowser: Also using the stars Bowser could create for himself a trap to warp back onto the field and for Mario to be warped back out of the painting.
Bowser lifted all the areas in the paintings off the ground to ensure none of the native creatures in the area would help out the stranded victims. And it would make it harder for Mario

Exactly. That's all I was saying. I wasn't trying to imply that the castle is usually surrounded by water, but that Bowser temporarily put it there.

I guess that could work. But then why did the mini-map show land?

Peaches castle could have been raised after Mario came inside.

I guess we could just disregard the mini-map.

Just thought about this:
Since a lot of the levels could have and probably always existed, the Rainbow Cruise level could have been used for the airships.
Like a repair dock, or port for Bowsers airship fleet. It reminds me a lot of the poles and platforms in Ricco Harbor. A sky harbor...

Looks too random (moving parts-wise) for an airdock. No equipment either.

Same thing for Ricco Harbor.

It could possibly be a port. A small one at least. Although it seemed pretty abandoned besides that one airship. I could see how the castle could be part of a port, but what about those other things, like big triangles and vertical maze?

Probably a lot of it has been dismantled since Bowser retired the airships. Of course, he could be preparing to bring them back, considering that he volunteered an airship as a racetrack in MKDS.

I'm interested on the Hazy Maze (Or something like that, lot of time I don't play the game) it looked like... An amusement park or something... Of course, when Bowser took over, he filled the place with real dangerous monsters and traps.
