It can be done. We just assume that Mario rests only when necessary and completes the game to 100%. This can be combined with distance, days that are part of the story (3 Days Of Excess), and how long it takes to play the game to 100% without cheating and with resonable speed.

So... We know how long it takes to travel between the islands on SMB3?

Well warp pipes are of course in use making travel easier.
And how long do you think the games last in days? Remember that Peach is held up in Bowser's Castle the whole time.
Yoshi's Island.... I'd say almost week.
Taking into account the night levels in SMB, I'd say it was around 5 days.
SMB3 could have been weeks since Peach was only captured during world 7.
SMW could have been around or less than a week.
SM64 could have been a few days since Mario didn't need all the stars to fight Bowser, and collecting them all would waste precious time for Peach.
PM could have been done in a little over a week, seeing as how Mario and Peach had relative comfort.
Luigi's Mansion took one night, late evening to early morning. E Gadd said it took only one night at the very end of the game.
PM2 just seems like it could have happened around 10 days. It was kinda a super huge world saving mission.

I think SMW was probaly longer, consider the sheer size of Dinosaur Land. PM2 might have been longer too, since Mario and Co. were marooned on Keelhaul Key for several days. Also I doubt he beat everyone in the Glitz Pit in less then a week.

What about the Toad hotels and traveling to that Yoshi Island?
I would say that Super Mario RPG is... Maybe a month.

Yea the Keelhaul Key chapter definetly took a while, it coulda been a week. The fights in the first 5 matches where really nothing. He could have gotten to 10th place in a few hours. And beat Rawk Hawk later the next day.

I always thought it was one fight a day.

That seems logical to me, too, but it would sure take a long time at that rate. Maybe it was done in one weekend as a special marathon of fights.

It's the Glitz Pit, there has to be a fight all the time.
There's always differnt fighters when you walk inside the arena audience and the first fights can take a few minutes tops.

*Breathes deeply* Ok. After some serious thought, I've scrapped my old timeline almost completely. But I have revised it enough to solve a whole bunch of anomalies (did I spell that right?) that were bothering me. (in case your wondering, that last one is the new Mario soccer game that hasen't come out yet.)

How could the movie happen between Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Land?

SMB2 could have happened any time, considering it was a dream.

Not very clear, the game strongly suggest that it's more like Link's Awakening. But how can the movie be between it and Super Mario Land?

I never really saw the movie as being canon in games, I always thought it was one of those Alternate Universe kinda things, same with the cartoons, anime movies, comics, manga, etc.

I would actually like to consider all of those things canon. For instance, the Super Mario Bros. Super Show could just be lumped together in one timeline entry that summed up the general idea of the show. Same with any comics. However, that does make for a lot of material.
Nice timeline, Pdoogan.

I like to think most of the episodes are exagerated G versions of real events that happen every now and then. There's usually a years gap between games, and Bowser's crew has to be doing some badly thought up plans to pass the time.
Heh, Mouser and Fryguy are so lame in the shows...

The cartoons don't have to take place at one certian time. Episodes could even be spead out over many years considering they don't have an ongoing story. And I agree with YM on the shows being drasticly dumbed down for the sake of the audience, even Mario games have a bit more violence then what was shown in those cartoons. Especially Super Show. Some of the plot of that show are even too rediculis for the Mushroom World.

Oh and the episodes could be adventures Mario described to Myamoto but didn't become games.
Man.... everything about that show was sooo 90's. Those songs with the high pitched singing...
Good times

Oh and the episodes could be adventures Mario described to Myamoto but didn't become games. Huh? I'm not 100% percent sure what you saying there.
