But alot people Eat whole scorpions without cooking or anything. Plus animals that eat scorpions preatty much have to do that. Actualy I don't think that any of them eat the poison gland, not that any of this is particularly on topic or anything....

Fire Flowers are held in SSB, but Mario can absorb it probably from some magical mutation he has (Just requoting someone else, like I usually do >.<). Maybe they can only be used by holding for everyone else.
And Yoshi Mastar's right. You couldn't eat a Fire Flower alone and live.

No, watch the cartoon. Toad and Peach can use fire flowers too (this may not mean anyone can use them but it means it would be possible)

Yeah, and so does Bowser in The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 and Wario in Super Mario Land 2, plus all of the characters in spin-off games.
