Or, Mario dies and the metal moves his body then brings him back to life.
April Fools! Ha ha... heh... I'm so alone.

ATTENTION! Can we consider 1-UPS canon?
How can a person have more than one life?
The life shroom in Paper Mario ( restores some health if you die ) might be possible, thoughts?

I would suspect that it magically resurrects you once you die.

Magic's pretty much the only explanation for something like that.

What do the prize boxes look like from the top? Same for pipes? In Melee the pipes had boards over them and the boxes where blank.

Prize boxes? I'm not sure what you're talking about.
And I would assume the pipes would be open and just leading down into darkness. You can see them that way in all the Mario RPGs.

The blocks with the question mark on them.
What do the pipes that you can't enter look like from the top?

Ohhhh! lol, I never knew they were called Prize Boxes. I figured they were just Question Mark Blocks (silly me). Anyway, I would assume they they look just be blank on all the other sides. I think they showed them that way in one of the RPGs.
As for the pipes that you can't enter, yeah I suppose they would be boarded up or something.

Yeah, I think boards over the closed pipes sounds good. There's really no other explanation. I mean, they can't be blocked up with some kind of material because we'd eventually see one that had overflowed.
Hey, does anyone remember the Prize Box gallery in Mario & Luigi? It was in the Hooniversity. That could probably help us.

Yeah, I remember that part. Does anybody remember if they were just studying them or if they were actually creating them? Because if so, we'd have an answer to alot of questions right there. It's also fascinating that it acknowledges all the different boxes from multiple games. That supports the Mariology stand-point that you can't just pass everything off as artistic differences and a change in game designers.
Now, about the boarded up pipes. The question here is: why were they boarded up? And where would they lead if they were re-opened? Hmmm, mysteeeeerious. *wiggles fingers like an idiot*

I think they were just studying them, but with the aim of recreating them. I'm not sure.
I think the boarded up pipes probably led to dangerous or now-defunct places.

The top of blocks have a delacate breakable substance that disentergrates or something when hit from below. Thus making it safe to walk on them.
I once said the pipes had those doors with the spinning handles on them.

Either that or when Mario hits the block, the item's upward force breaks the top of the box open.

Well, if they aren't being created by the existing races, then I cast my vote for them being magic artifacts. The fact that they can eject items seemingly without opening, or possibly without even being hollow in the first place, leads me to this conclusion.

It's quite possible that they are. That could explain why they aren't an exhausted resource yet. I still put my vote in for magic, though.

In the SMB manuel it says Bowser turned some Mushroom People into bricks and blocks. I rule that out.
What if E Gadd science labs place is making them?
