Plus, it turns out that Zero Suit Samus isn't all bad: she has more speed and a longer reach. Expect five hundred forums demanding her to be selectable from the start.

Smashville means Tom Nook won't be playable. I never expected him to be playable. He's just a shopkeeper and dosen't even have any attacks.

I never expected him to be playable. He's just a shopkeeper and dosen't even have any attacks. That's what I thought. Yet nearly everyone on the internet who's interested in Brawl wants him in. Partly just because of likeness for the character and partly because they think AC needs a rep. I just think there's too much evidence against him for him to appear.

Update: story mode, maybe. And there's a weird guy no one has seen before at the end. And Ridley and Bowser can be seen as clouds, which I doubt is more than a cameo. This is the classic leave-you-hanging update.

I don't care who's playable, who's not, what kind of stages there are, or how good online play is...
A STORY IN A SMASH BROS. GAME HAS A VERY HIGH CHANCE OF RUINING IT.

Maybe it would and maybe it wouldn't. But this is a mariology forum, a story mode would help us get some answers.
EDIT: Plus, this proves beyond a doubt that the smash bros contestants are trophies brought to life.

Or it could make it ten times more confusing, which is what the update seems like. Oh well. We'll probably get some answers come Monday.

As long as the new antagonist has a relation to Master Hand, we're not totally screwed.
Nintendo seems to be going a little overboard on giving bad guys purple shadowy sparks lately. First it was Pokemon Colloseum and XD, then it was PM:TTYD, then Twilight Princess, SPM, and now this.

They seem to be giving everything a darker image.

Purple is the new black.
And the problem with smash bros is that since it had no story, you couldn't be sure how it fit in to the contunity. Why are they fighting each other? And how did they get together? How is there two marios?
People have speculated, but now we might finally get some answeres.

We knew the trophy thing since the first Smash Bros. (except they were dolls), yet no one listened. Don't know why; there's undeniable proof that they are brought to life in both games, and also changed back in Melee.

Yeah, I guess it had to be said flat out in order for people to understand it.

I never doubted the fact that they were tropies. The opening scenes in both Smash Bros. games prove that. Not only that, but many of the moves that some of the characters used on eachother would obviously be fatal if they were alive, such as getting hit head on with a sword or a laser.

Not really. Mario doesn't get beaned by pointy objects all the time, but he's usually okay afterwards. The blast line field just reduces the effect further.

New DK Stage is up. Apparently based on DK: Jungle Beat. But what's more important is that scrolling stages are back, for those of you who care. Also chars now have the ability to climb, which is nice.

Yeah, there are three possibilities. A. Update on This World later this week B. Update months from now C. No update, going to be revealed with the game

Yay! New character! It's Yoshi! And about time, too. Plus his new look feels a lot more Yoshi-ish than in Melee. And maybe people might use him occasionally because of his new third jump. The only bad part is probably no new chars until next week.

I never really cared about Yoshi's lack of a triple jump...I always accepted it in exchange for being surprisingly heavy, having fast and powerful attacks, the Egg Shield, etc.
His shoe colour isn't red enough.

Eh, sometimes they're red, sometimes they're brown. They've even been yellow before. I don't really care. And a third jump is still a nice addition. Don't know how it will work, but still, it's an improvement. Yoshi can already recover horizontally from really far, but this will help him get some vertical distance as well. But I like how he feels like a modern Yoshi instead of a raptor-SMW Yoshi hybrid who can throw eggs.
