Censor fix'd.
And yeah, the presence of a symbol for Animal Crossing is suspisious.

I think the symbol is just since it's a major franchise with a symbol that fits well. Everyone says that must mean that someone has to be playable, but really, all of the major ones either don't have any real skills or are in the background.

Update: Thousands of sites around the internet are going to hate this: Deoxys now comes out of a Poke`ball, so he has no chance of being a playable character. Also some Starfox music was released yesterday.

Yeah. I really don't know what's with all these people saying that so-and-so-legendary-Pokemon should be playable. I mean, all they can do is decrease their power to match the other chars.

Not to mention two super-powerful Poke`mon who happen to also be psychic wouldn't have many distinguishing characteristics when translated to Brawl. Do we really need a Mewtwo clone? It's better this way. I don't want a flood of playable Poke`mon because we'll have a lot that will come out of balls, plus the confirmed Pikachu and practically confirmed Jigglypuff. Some people say we need to represent each era, but that would be too many for my taste.

Why do you think deoxys would be a mewtwo clone? Sure they're both psychic ledgendarys, but deoxys's four transformations would have let him really stand out.
And a flood of playable pokemon? Aside from the pokeball pokemon, there has only been four. And since pichu probobly won't be returning, we'll need all the pokemon we can get.

I would expect the following when dealing with playable Pokes: 1. Expect no legendaries. 2. Don't expect more than one per type. 3. Expect Pokes of reasonable, humanistic size.

I was hoping they would put Charizard in, now that would be cool. As for past playable pokemon..Jigglypuff FTW!!! That's my best character in Melee. Although it wasn't that great in the 1st game. But it can only get better right?

I went to smash boards for about two minutes, and during my short visit I found out that the most wanted pokemon (besides deoxys) are Blazikin and Lucario.

I still want Charizard the most.

I can see it now.
Newcomer: Charizard
B-attack: flamethrower Forward-B: slash Up-B: dragon rage/wing attack Down-B: fire spin Final smash: blast burn

Blaziken and Lucario, yeah. They're both partly fighting-types, but Lucario's Steel-type is a bit too ambiguous for a Smash Bros. game. Blaziken gets my nod between the two.
Speaking of Pokes...notice how the camera zoomed in on Pikachu's Volt Tackle in the E3 15sec trailer? Not a good developement.

A flood of Pokes would happen if every era is represented at least once. That would get about seven or eight of them, plus Pokeballs and any ones in stages would be an overload. As much as I like it, I don't think it should get more represented than Mario.

Todays update is samus's final smash.
Zero laser. Samus charges up and unleashes a huge laser blast, but afterwards her armor falls off and she becomes zero suit samus. People can pick up and throw the discarded armor.
Don't tell me you didn't see this coming.

Yeah, pretty easy to predict. At least it makes a reasonable explanation for Zero-Suit Samus, as her being another character would be dumb. She would have no unique traits that you would choose over Samus. By the way, has anyone else noticed that the Final Smashes all seem to have drawbacks? Mario Finale could push Mario off the stage, Giga Bowser could slip off from being huge, and Triforce Slash and Kirby's final smash both only go after one character. I thought they would be overly powerful.

Don't tell me you didn't see this coming. Yeah, I saw it coming. Too bad they couldn't think of a more interesting charswap idea, though. SmashBoards got like 21 pages of anger in less than 3 hours about this update.

Later updates (Smashville, Deoxys, Zero Beam, Dr. Wright, Samauri Goroh) seem to be getting on peoples nerves and causing riots. Not sure why only the later ones. (Well, besides Snake of course.)

Smashville means Tom Nook won't be playable. Deoxys means he won't be playable. Zero beam means Zero Suit Samus will be very hard to play as. Samauri Goroh means he won't be playable.
All that I can understand, but why would they care about Dr. Wright?

Because a few people wanted him to be playable.
