Same as above. If you haven't seen any pics, go to IGN.com or something.

On the one hand, this seems great for first person shooters. But sidescrollers--how will those work? The least I can say is that I'm excited. It surely will be a wild ride, and I hope Nintendo delivers.

Me, I see sidescrollers using the control stick to move and the controller to jump and attack or something. Maybe you could "flick" the controller to the side in a Smash Bros. game as a Smash Attack.

I wonder if this innovation is going to meet the same fate as GCN-GBA connectivity: forgotten and under utilized. In the future we may only use the analog stick and buttons.

Probably not, since there's only 1 stick, 3 buttons and 3 triggers.

Yeah. They said something about a shell that will fit over it (for multi-platform games) that will make it somewhat normal.

It's going to be totally new, that's for sure.

Somehow I get this feeling that Mario 128 isn't going to be a system seller.

Heck, somehow I get the feeling Mario 128 isn't even coming out. I think we'll get something wacky.

Define "wacky".

Something that we've never seen before--some kind of new play control that ends up being either loved or hated. I don't think we're going to get the traditional 3-D Mario adventure we've been waiting for.

yeah thats nintendos flaw theyve tried to get all types of gamers in on there franchise and most the time theyre losing more to gain less the best of the 3-d franchise was on the N64 cuase i didnt think SMSS (super mario sunshine) wasnt all that great but do you think well see another SSBM game on the market

I'm betting that if the Revolution controller is a flop then they'll just make a new one that gamers will be more accustomed to.

Kind of what they did with GCN-GBA connectivity--it pretty much flopped, so they let it die. I'm almost hoping that they'll skip the inevitable failure of this new controller and give us a normal one right away.
Maybe it won't fail, though.

I still don't think that we should knock it until we've tried it first.

That may be, but regardless it's still hard to figure out how they'll put it off.
And by the way, who's hoping that they'll abandon the single-colour look? Yeah, it looks cool to an extent, but an expert can't tell a newbie to "press the green button" anymore. It'd also be easier to identify "a" (or X) and "b" (or Y).

I know what you're talking about. I'm constantly telling people who play my Gamecube to push the red button or the green button. It's easier for them to figure out.

yeah it helps my lil bro play games but the letter and symbol system makes it harder for newbs to adjust im well adjusted to all systems im most fluent to xbox im constantly mixing the controls for gamecube and xbox with that of ps2 but thanks to nintendo we didnt have to worry about letters and symbols we can go by color too
