Well, time's dependent on gravity and velocity. If Mushroom Earth is about the same density as our Earth, time's going to pass at a very similar rate.

Why Wario and not Luigi?

I guess Luigi's abilities would be too similar to Mario's. I still hope he's somewhere in the game though, even if he's not a playable character.

So I head today that Kamek is indeed the main villan in YI2. Baby Luigi is in it too, he's kidnapped by Kamek (again). Don't ask me why baby Bowser is helping you if Kamek is the bad guy. I'm kinda glad it's Kamek, I consider him to be Yoshi's arch enemy, not to mention the fact that he's one my favorite viilans. ^^

Are you sure its Kamek, I heard it involved some sort of flying island and a bunch of kids (like maybe Baby Luigi) being abducted. Also the games called Yoshi's Island DS

That's what I heard on another forum that was quoting from the latest issue of Nintendo Power.

You could just use the Edit function, gigagrodus.
In other news, Yoshi's Island DS is a stupid name.

Well, one has to be right (personally I think Yoshi's Island 2 sounds better). If its true and the game is called Yoshi's Island DS, the DS was probably added to "fit in" with other games that have DS in the title or have DS as innitials.

I think it's official that it's DS. Sadly.

Looks like I may have been wrong, the new issue of Nintendo Power says that Kamek is the main villain.

I'm making a new topic since I can't find the old one. I got the game yesterday and played through about half of it today (yes, I have no life) Here are my thoghts sofar:
A truckload of nostalga can be expected for anyone who enjoyed the first. If it weren't for the whole baby swap thing, It would be nearly identical gameplay wise to the original.
-All the old baddes are back along with a few new ones. Some of the sprites like the bandit and troopa haven't even been edited from the original.
-The controls are a bit tricky, but luckally, there and option to make the control sceme just like that of YI for the GBA
-The baby swiching thing isn't really as annoying as you waould think it would be. It's pretty obvious who's needed in what place, and alot of times it really dosen't matter who you have.
-The babies themselves don't relly change the game play that much. DK's powers kick buttox though. I know Baby Bowser is somwhere in the game, but I haven't unlocked him yet.
-Most of the sound effect have been revamped so you don't hear the same sounds over and over again. e.x: the mole tank sounds more mechanical. Thankfully they kept the old sound for Kamek's voice instead of making him sound like a girl as they did in Touch and Go. The muisc isn't as catchy as the original as they remixed the same little tune into about 5 different songs.
-The only thing I've seen so far that I'm not too fond of is the fact that the worlds don't seem to have much of a theme to them. For instance, world 3 is supposed to be the beach, but water really only plays a big role in 3 or 4 levels. The others are just random obsitcle corses of fields. ------------------- I can't relly say if I like it better then the original yet, I'll have to play through the reat of the game to see. Although so far, I'd say the first one is a little better, but not by much.
...and baby Wario crying is byfar the most annoying sound in the world.

Well, since the first one is counted among the best platformers of all time, I'd say this game sounds pretty good. The music situation troubles me, however. I hate repetitive music in a game (that's one reason I wasn't completely thrilled by NSMB). But hey, I recently got my DS back (turns out someone on the bus had picked it up--thinking it was his--and once my aunt found out she was able to get it back), so I'll be picking this one up soon.
And Pdoogan, I only WISH I could devote that much time per day to game playing. It takes me so long to complete a game these days that it's pathetic.

One thing I might add to this, the game is incredibly short and the last battle is way too easy. There are only five worlds instead of 6 (This sort of makes sense since I always assumued the last world in the original was Darkland, not yoshi's island). But I still found the game a bit too easy to live up to is predisessor. It's still a fun game though, don't think it isn't. The little tweack and imsubtle improvements really help make the gameplay itself enjoyable. (I.e: Yoshi's tounge is slightly longer, after your stunned by an enemy you don't automaticly lurch to the left of right when you recover.) But it's still missing somthing of the original. I guess such a great game is a bit of a hard act to follow...

Sadly, I don't have a DS*. Once I get one though, I plan to get this game. It sounds so awsome and I can't wait to play as baby bowser.
*no longer true
