I'd like to offer an invitation to Banzai's Canon! This is an idea that's been bouncing around in my brain for years, but I've just never gotten around to it. Until I wrote a few guest articles for Waluigious and realized how fun it could be! Essentially, it's an examination of continuity within the Marioverse and extended Marioverse. For too long I've been hearing people insist that the Mario series is void of a sense of continuity, and I simply could not help but strongly disagree. So this is my take on the Mario mythos with overly-analytical articles and a strange fusion of canon and fanon. Hope you enjoy it! But beware, if you can't tell the difference between a Life Mushroom and a Life Shroom, this may not be your cup of Koopa Tea.

Two endless supplies of 1UPs for you, good sir.
Although I'd like to know why doesn't the Japanese OVA get recognized too. Hell, Nintendo had more involvement in it than in the cartoons.
Caring so much about the stuff Nintendo ignores feels kinda weird too. I mean, Kongo Bongo Island ? Although every single recent Mario game with the island in it has been referring to it has "DK Island" ? Sounds kinda weird to read.
The babies' backstory is too complicated. I like it, but I had to read twice to get it. Just saying.
I like the idea that Mario and Luigi teaming up in Beanbean Kingdom gave them the idea of tag team racing in Double Dash.
There should be a little explanation for E. Gadd's Time Machine. I mean, Mario already has one, so what's his point ?
I like the idea that the Koopa Troop used a Time Hole to travel back to Baby Mario's time in YIDS too. About that, YIDS can't happen after Partners in Time, considering Baby Mario's still a toddler in that game, even though he wears clothes in PiT.
It's also not the star in Bowser's Galaxy Reactor that exploded. It was a planet gravitating around it.
NSMBW's credits have a clip of Peach reading her letter from SMG out loud. I think it hints at SMG happening right after NSMBW. Just saying.
You could try putting in smaller games in there too. After all, you did put in Mario Golf 64 and Mario Tennis 64, and Mario Party games have more story than these for instance.
You were the one to post these couple articles to Waluigious ? Oh right. I like'em.
That was everything I had to comment on. That aside, I like what you did very much.

Thanks, Koopalmier!
If I don't put it in a timeline, it doesn't mean that I don't think it happened. I'm just trying to get an overview. I've only seen some of the Japanese cartoons on YouTube, but I plan on commenting on how they fit all together.
Yeah, I might. For now, I'm just exhausted with all the writing.
I can't promise steady updates, with a new job and part-time work. Hopefully there's enough content to keep visitors satiated for a while.

It's okay, dude. You did really, really good work. This proves Mariology still exists.

I read somewhere that Mario's world is called Plit, don't know if that is official or not.

It's amazing that Nintendo managed to make TWO Mario games based in outer space but still managed to avoid naming that planet. Personally, I just refer to it as the "Mushroom World" although I can't think of a single official sourse that gives another name I read somewhere that Mario's world is called Plit, don't know if that is official or not. Naw, that was just some dumb thing made up by Lemmy's Land

In another thread I commented that I disagree with the premise of a grand harmonization of all Mario media ever, but that doesn't detract from this being a great work of historiography that deserves wider dissemination.

What do you mean by a grand harmonization?

I mean that the storyline is constructed to find a place for most every Mario product ever (save the Japanese anime series and the American movie), including the ones I would relegate to non-canonical status. It's a harmonization of many dubiously compatible sources on a grand scale.

Most fandoms don't consider certain mixed media to be canon. Most creators don't consider mixed media to be canon.
As far as I'm concerned, these are the existing Mario continuities:
1. Game - Consists of most if not all, Japan-produced Mario games. 2. Cartoon - Consists of all three Mario cartoons as well as the US-produced comics and edutainment games such as Mario is Missing! (though those may be a fringe continuity thing). 3. Movie - Consists of the movie. And whatever novelizations and things they made for it. 4. Anime - Consists of the Princess Peach Rescue Mission OVA. 5. Manga - Consists of the Super Mario-kun manga issues and its spin-offs.

I was going to update Banzai's Canon again, but Webs changed their policy. I would now have to pay to upload HTML files. So if any of you are still interested in my interpretation of the Mario Universe, just check the "Banzai's Canon" section of my deviantArt account for further updates.
