What's this? No topic about a new Mario Kart game? Well, now I've fixed that. So... discuss whatever here, whether you are happy that Shy Guy is a fully playable character or still wondering what the heck Nintendo was thinking by making Queen Bee a character. Discuss.

I don't mind Queen Bee, actually. She did sort of come out of left field, yeah, but she's definitely a refreshing new face. Wiggler's cool too, I guess, but having him as a playable kart character is weird.
I'm a little baffled that Waluigi seems not to be in the game, but it's not really an issue for me because it has never crossed my mind to ever be Waluigi in any game ever.

I'm still waiting for Boom-boom to make an appearance in a sports game. Hopfully with the realese of SM3DL (that's quite a tricky acronym!) he'll be a little more popular. You know instead of using Peaty Piranha who technically only played a part in 2 action games.

Why is the game even titled "Mario Kart 7" It's the only numbered game in the series... You can't just decide to start numbering installments in a series after you've released 6 of them over the span of 20 years.

Supposedly, they called it Mario Kart 7 as if to say, "Hey world, we've made seven Mario Kart games!" But honestly, what else would they have called the game? Mario Kart 3D? Naming the game after the system its on has been getting a bit old. And honestly, if Waluigi isn't in this I will seriously think Nintendo tried too hard to put in new characters. I never reallyliked playing as Waluigi, but he has become a staple of the Mario Sports games. Taking him out would be like taking Daisy out. Not only that but Waluigi Pinball is a course in the game! How can you have Waluigi Pinball without Waluigi! But whatever, as long as they didn't replace him with some stupid character like Baby Yoshi or some other pointless character, I'll be fine. Who knows, maybe we'll finally see Hammer Bro in a Mario Kart game? Or perhaps they will finally put Kamek in.

Super Mario Kart- Everything from the SNES era had the word "super" in it Mario Kart 64- Again, everything from the N64 era had the number 64 in it. Mario Kart Super Circuit- Ok, this one was original, although in Japan, it got stuck with the whole "advance" cliche Mario Kart Double Dash- Probably the most original name in the series. Mario Kart DS- Named after the system Mario Kart Wii- Also named after the system So at least "7" is a little better then "Mario Kart 3DS"...

Some pretty cool footage has been added recently. From this video alone, we can see many Retro stages making a comeback, as well as a few brand new stages. There seems to be a couple of new powerups in the Fire Flower and the Tanooki Leaf, which both seem to act similar to the Golden Mushroom. That means you can spam the button as many times as you like within a predetermined amount of time.
Another interesting new feature to note is that coin collecting seems to be a common theme in this game. Coupled with previous information stating that you can customize your karts with 3 separate sets of spare parts, I'd surmise that there seems to be a garage in this game where you can spend your coins to buy new parts, bar the few special parts that you'll normally get by completing specific goals within the game.
The Battle Mode also seems to have gotten an overhaul, given the fact that Teams seem to be absent in the video. I'm not sure if that was intentional, or if the maker of the video felt we were familiar enough with the Team System already, but that's yet to be seen.
...So yeah. What do you guys think?

Bob-ombs move towards players? Blue shells travel on land until they reach first place? Looks like Nintendo really made sure to make the items work well this time.
