...What would you include in it? It could be for a huge, milestone video game in the series, or maybe big budget movie.
What would you put into it, or like to see be a part of it? This includes characters, locations, plot elements, tone, etc. Are there any aspects of previous Mario stories that you'd reuse? If so, then why?
If you haven't guessed already, I'm trying to pick your guys' brains for some ideas for my story. So, I'm just curious to see what your opinions on this matter are.

Well, hundreds of refrences to other Mario games is something to include. Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and Kamek should all be main characters. Yoshi should be involved in some way. You should make some consistent map of the areas that Mario and his friends traverse... etc.
EDIT: Oh, and I would recommend that you read a particular Mario novel to get ideas. (I'm sure Mariobro knows which one I'm talking about.) Unfortunately, the author the novel I am talking about is not here on this website, and the novel isn't something that you can find in any old bookstore (obviously cause of copyright and all that). So you will have to ask the author of this novel yourself if you want to read it. I can direct you to this author if you want to read it, just give me a PM or say something here and I'll tell you where to find him. Hold on, I've also got to ask the author if he is willing to share his novel with you...

Yeahh, I'd totally like to read these ideas! Anything that can give me ideas for Chronicles of the Mushroom Kingdom would be a great read! Also, could you be more specific in your answer to my initial question?

Honestly, I don't want to get too specific cause I don't want to dictate how you write the story, but... character wise I said I'd like to se Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and Kamek. I'm pretty sure Mario, Luigi, and Bowser are already meant to go into your story, but I'd like to see Kamek in there being Bowser's father figure and the brains of the Koopa Troop. I said I'd like to see Yoshis in there because Yoshis are like the MK equivalent of horses. If there is a horseback battle somewhere in the story, it should be on Yoshis. Also, I'd like you to elaborate on the whole Goombas were traitors of the Mushroom Kindom. Maybe you could use that to show how Bowser was able to take over. And, looks like I'll be able to bring the author in question over here, so I won't have to lead you anywhere.

What do you mean by ultimate?
I would like to see a Koopa-based story for a change similar to my discontinued Chronicles of the Koopa Empire fanfic but better written.

A major story. Like, the story of all three Pirates of the Carabeans, but under one movie. Or the story of a very big RPG. It'd have all locations from past Mario games, plus new ones. It'd borrow elements from all Mario games, even the puzzle games. It'd have a lot of references to past adventures. It'd have almost every villain being referenced or even re-appearing. It'd have space travel, dimensional travel, etc. It'd give a major role to all recurring characters too.

I'd just have this remake of the original Super Mario Bros movie - But with no dinosaurs. Instead, it would be about Mario and Luigi discovering the Mushroom Kingdom one day in a warp zone underneath Brooklyn. However, Lord Bowser has been ruling the Mushroom Kingdom five years prior to the arrival of the Mario Brothers, and in those years, the Mushroom Kingdom has become a police state full of huge dilapidated cities and military complexes. The people are downtrodden, pollution is at an all time high, the kingdom is being plagued by the growth of a poisonous red fungus, and in general, the world is going to hell. And Princess Peach Toadstool is Queen Peach Toadstool.

I always wanted to see a work with the expanded Marioverse included. This means Wario and Donkey Kong characters would be present too.

Because I don't consider DK part of the Marioverse, especially with everything Rare did to it. I've always thought of the DK games as being part of the Rare universe but that's just my opinion.

Well it's just my opinion that your opinion is WRONG.
With Rare gone there's no real reason to leave DK out. We see more DK characters in Mario games that Wario characters.
Believe me, I used to consider DK seperate too, but something's gotta give.

We never see ANY Wario characters (except Wario) in Mario games. Okay Dr. Mario 64 but that was the only game ever.
I honestly love great big expansive universes. So I don't mind DK being in the Marioverse. I actually like it. When I was little I used to believe in a great big Nintendo Universe, I don't anymore, but as you can see I have no problem with series coexisting. I think its... Nice!

I still consider them seperate and am quite annoyed that the Kremlings were scrapped in favour of those totem things in DKC Returns.

I'm sorry, and I don't mean to be rude, but that's a pretty ridiculous claim. DK and Mario quite obviously exist within the same universe. Rare expanding on DK in his own adventures doesn't separate him from the Marioverse in the slightest. I just don't understand how you could even view them as separate universes at all... They're so closely woven together. Maybe if you clarified or explained yourself a bit more.

How is it that two characters that first appeared in the exact same game have nothing to do with each other? And DKCR was a great game, you can't blame Retro for originality. I would've liked Kremlings too, and Nintendo seems to only use their rights to them for Mario Sports games as of late, but maybe DKCR 2 will have them. We will never know. But how can you claim that Mario and DK are different series? There is even a whole spin-off series devoted to the fact that Mario and DK are still rivals. But this talk about the connections of the Nintendo Universes has got me going. Expect some huge topic about it soon.

Well they are different series. But that doesn't mean they aren't from the same universe.
