I went to Target today and managed to get the very last 3DS/Mario bundle. It was a steal at 170$ which means the game only cost me 10 bucks. ;D

I still have to wait till Christmas to play it though...

I seriously can't put this game down, even after I've beaten it 100% (by the way, that last level is a killer >_>). The levels are rather short, but they're so packed with stuff that they feel rich and awesome. I think that's what contributes to the "maaaaaaaybe just one more level" thing that goes on; it's just so easy to hop in and out of worlds and levels.

Gah, this game is totally sucking my time away.

100%'d the game a while ago (didn't stop playing it as soon as I got home, then leaved the game for other stuff, then replayed a few levels today). So, my stats:
- playtime: 28:19
- 5 shiny stars
- 293 Star Coins
- Crown Crown 9 lifes
- 270 deaths (lost like 150 lifes on Special-Crown as Mario. And 4 lifes as Luigi)

I think I'll start on another file.

I got to play it today. SOOO AWESOME! The 3D looks amazing. I've heard people complain about the 3D not working right, but I've found that if it doesn't look crisp, you probably need to adjust something (the 3d slider or the angle you're holding the system.)

I'm really impressed with all the references to SMB3 right down to the toad house theme.

I'm also thankful for the complete lack of Bowser Jr. Do you realize he's been in every Mario platformer since Sunshine? (SM64DS doesn't count since it was a remake)

I love 3D Land to pieces. Still, there's one thing about this game that I just outright dislike: it contributes almost nothing to the fandom.

It's just a teeny little annoying feeling I get while playing. We get Pom Pom, and the Boomerang Flower, and we get to see Peach and Toad in Tanooki Suits, but other than that, it really doesn't help this forum at all. It's delightfully creative, but it's just not all that original. I don't know if you follow, but there is quite a bold line between the two.

But, like I said, I absolutely adore the game other than this issue, and it's easily the best 3D platformer on any handheld, in my opinion.

Well, i beat the main game.
Here are some personal thoughts:

Overall, the game is great. The music was a little uniteresting, but let that be the worst problem.
I don't think i would change anything if i could, but the addition of the frog/hammer bro suits would have been cool.
Oh, and i wluld have made the extra lives a bit harder to collect. Seriously, i have like over 100 lives and never got a game over.

But other then a few minor things, it's perfect

Well one thing we did learn is that boom-booms are a real species rather then just one wierd koopa guy with big arms.

Don't forget that Tanooki leaves actually do grow on trees.

We also learnt that:
- Peach does try to run away from Bowser when she's kidnapped. She's only been able to do that in Mario 3D Land and almost in Paper Mario though. So, no, she doesn't just stay there and be like "derp".
- Bowser's canon height is his head being the same height as Mario as a whole (and his body being bigger, relatively).
- Tanooki leaves are actually generated by a single tree, not far away from Peach's castle (and likely get spreaded by the wind in the MK and MW during Autumn).
- Bowser is starting to make bigger use of his magic.
- This cements the fact Bowser's troops don't have any problems constructing castles a bit everywhere, as this is the third time they manage doing it while being citizens of the kingdom.
- Also cemented: Luigi has a bigger ego since his adventure in the Waffle Kingdom. This was hinted by the fact he had a pretty big ego in that game himself and even lied to make the story look better (but he lied to his brother only), jumped into the action with no fear in the SPM intro, and went on an adventure of his own in SMG2, but the fact he also went on an adventure of his own in 3D Land without telling anyone (well, he got kidnapped in the end...) cements this once and for all (yes, Luigi went on an adventure by himself. He's in one of Peach's cards if you shake the console).
- Not sure if Boom-Boom's a species or not. :V
- Bowser is so heavy that him falling down from the roof was enough to destroy the majority of his castle.
- Also, Bowser can fly (likely by using magic). One could guess he uses magic as a last plan, even though he could beat Mario if he used it first.
- The World 8 Final Castle looks like a factory... Is this where all of the tribe's robots and stuff are constructed ?
- There are many man-made (or Toad-made) structures in the game. The MK (at least the area around Peach's castle) is starting to get more modern.

also theories
- Mario got stronger over the year and can absorb the entire power of a Tanuki Leaf now, so instead of just becoming Racoon Mario he becomes Tanuki Mario. Same applies to Luigi (who becomes Kitsune Luigi by the way) and Peach. Maybe the Toads could do it from the start ?

I actually got this along with the legend of zelda 3D game 2 days ago for Christmas. Though I'm only on World 3 right now, it is really fun!

Does something happen after you collect all the coins?
