Are those standard cheesey new-member posts allowed here? Well, at any rate, I'm going to risk it.
The name's Courtney, and Mario has been a part of my life for as long as I have memories of anything. In fact, one of my very earliest clear memories is toddling into the living room on Christmas morning as a three-year-old and seeing that Super Nintendo with Super Mario World sitting there waiting for me, glorious and mysterious. These days, I can't keep up with every Mario game that comes out, but I try to play the big ones, and I'm an absolute fiend for the RPGs. I just love them to pieces, their humor and their style and their characters. They had quite an influence on my art style, as well.
All my life, I have thought really deeply about the games I played, letting my imagination run wild with the characters and the locales. And I've found some intelligent people on the internet to share those imaginings and theories with, but not every forum I've hung around has been the most ideal place for that. I used to be a part of a wonderful community, but some complications arose and unfortunately things will never be the same - and a community that used to be ok, but really went downhill, and a community that was never really that great to begin with, and so on. What I've really wanted for a while is a place to discuss the games I love with intelligence, to really let imagination and analysis run wild, and this looks like the place. I can often get that at DeviantArt, but at the same time I'm always running from all these crazy "DIMENTIO IS MY HUBBY" people and worried I'll tick people off for some reason or another.
Anyway, so yes, I do quite a lot of fanart, mainly of the Paper Mario games, and you can find me at DeviantArt under the same name - although recently I've been working much more on an original concept. I'm also, in fact I should say I am foremost, a Rareware fan - Donkey Kong Country 2 is my favorite game of all time, and I am also a huge fan of the Banjo-Kazooie series- and yes, I did enjoy Nuts & Bolts.
Oh, as for how I wound up here- I've been following Artemendo on dA for a long time, but he hasn't been around in forever, so I decided to check out Waluigious to see if I could hear from him there, and got hooked on reading everything...
I really look forward to getting to know you all!
