On another note... where the hell is Artemendo? He doesn't answer e-mail, he hasn't posted on Waluigious for... dunno, since maybe August, and Mario Thoughts since the same... Heck, his last visit here was in April. Since, thoughts on the article?

What's wrong with Yakuman DS? The learning mode isn't too bad, and I'm not yet at the level where the AI is supposed to cheat more than a little old Chinese lady.

No, it doesn't lack anything, it's inclusion is for the fact that:
1. It never got a western release
2. It used features that Nintendo claimed they couldn't use in any games than did.

It didn't get a Western release because there are very few players of Japanese mahjong (Riichi) outside Japan. Which is a shame, and something the European Mahjong Association is working on, but you have to admit it would sell worse than an American football game outside the US - or, worse, sell decently and then be returned to the stores when purchasers figure out that it's not a tile-matching game. (I'm sympathetic to half-baked plans to rebrand the Japanese game "Reach" so it's not confused with tile-matching games or the one with the yearly card.)
Can't defend the features.
