His original arcade form was massive, and looked barely anything like his post Donkey Kong Country/elderly one. Compare: Then: www.mariowiki.com/images/e/e4/Dk1.gif[/img] Now: I know old people shrink slightly as they age, but Cranky Kong seems to have become about half his original size. Any ideas?

"Half his original size"... It's not like he's twice smaller than the current Donkey Kong. It looks like to me that he's the same size as before, looking at both the DK artwork and the DKC one.

Remember, the original Donkey Kong was on the NES and Arcade. They could only add so much detail to a small sized character. He probably wouldn't have even been recognizeable as a monkey if they hadn't made him bigger.

In the second "Then" concept art, he doesn't look all that much bigger than Pauline, so I doubt that he's shrunken that much...

He's old, hunched over, and in the Now images he's in a chair.
Makes perfect sense to me :^P

Just graphics and stuff. You could say the same thing about Bowser and the koopalings getting bigger in every game they are in reality they are still the same size.
