I guess I should post a few areas that could be locations in the game.
Peach's Castle: The famous castle once again makes a return, and is now open after the events from Bowser's Inside Story. You can visit Peach and Toadsworth here.
Toad Town: Toad Town returns from Bowser's Inside Story as the place where the majority of the game's stores can be found. The Mall continually updates it's items throughout the game, and there is always new information being passed among the townsfolk, so it's a good idea to check back to this place.
Blubble Lake: Bubble Lake returns from Bowser's Inside Story. While the area above land hasn't changed much, other than being expanded to include an entire grassland portion, the newly-introduced underwater portion of the lake has been littered with scrap metal and is full of dangerous creatures due to Qorba's experiments.
Cavi Cape: Cavi Cape returns from Bowser's Inside Story. Qorba has set up a mining operation in the cave, vastly changing it's appearance with steel walls, elevators, conveyor belts, and railroads. Some areas of the caverns are also very dark, and are hard to navigate and best avoided unless you can find out how to make some light. The grasslands above ground have become Qorba's explosives testing site, and are noisy and dangerous as a result.
