What happened to Yoob?

Someone at TV Tropes raised the question, and it's a good point. He seems too big to be affected by the baby tears much, and apart from deactivating, the thing just vanishes from the storyline altogether after chapter 2.

Is it still stuck on a mountain on Yoshi's Island? Did it get melted by a massive amount of baby tears like presumably half the castle/final dungeon did? Then again, what the bloody heck is it? A creature? A robot? It's got characteristics of both, and it's never really explained how the heck it functioned at about 10 times smaller a size.

He's likley an artificial lifeform with cybernetic implants inside of him, so he's basically a cyborg. The story really just forgot about him, but I guess he shrunk back down to normal size and rotted/rusted away in the later parts of the game.

I always thought he was some kind of organic cyborg.

He could also be a Yoshi-Shroob chimera with some robotic parts.

Either way, he must have been destroyed by the baby tears.
