Ahhhhh c'mon c'mon, I wanna do this... (This is the last non-Mario game idea I've had to post here though)
STAR FOX FRONT LINE
Wii, 1-2 players
If Star Fox could return complete with a revamp and reboot (Command sucked big time anyway), I've thought about this.
Apparently, Fox's next adventure could have him in a sidescrolling run-and-gun shoot-em-up with some of the others following along, in the style of Metal Slug and Contra.
Complete with the 2.5D style platforming of DKCR, Fox and the crew would work their way through several levels to the goals, blasting away at any enemies in their way as they march on with a plethora of weapons.
Controls (sideways Wii Remote):
Control Pad: Move (and aim if need be)
1: Shoot
2: Jump
A: Hop into nearby Arwing/Landmaster/Blue Marine
B: Switch weapons (on foot)
+ Button: Pause the game
The characters to choose from are as follows, with their own stats. You'll find more of them as you go on through the game. You can even play this game in co-op with 2 players:
Fox: The well-rounded one in all stats
Falco: Fast on his feet, more stamina than the others, and proficient at using the Arwing
Slippy: Slower on foot, but proficient at using the Landmaster
Peppy: Jumps high, average at vehicle and weapon proficiency, but slower
Krystal: A little less stamina than the rest, but proficient at using weapons on foot
Bill: Above average stamina, slow, and proficent at the Landmaster
Katt: Fast, high jump, and proficient at the Arwing
(Bill and Katt are hidden characters after you complete the game)
The planets (mostly retained from the N64 game) would consist of five levels and end with one boss level each. Star Wolf is bound to get in your way on some planets. Take em down when you see em appear!
Taking the Assault protocols, the ground combat is retained along with most of the weapons, plus a few new ones (getting to that later). Pick them up anywhere along the way:
Blaster: Your basic (weak) weapon with infinite ammo. Hold down 1 to charge your shots.
Machine Gun: Holds up to 500 rounds. Hold down 1 for rapid fire.
Homing Launcher: Holds up to 30 rounds. When this is held, push up or down to aim and it may lock onto enemies in your sight.
Sniper Rifle: Holds up to 20 rounds. With this in hand, hold down 1 to move the aiming crosshair around very well ahead of you, and let go to fire if you've found your target.
Gatling Gun: Holds up to 500 rounds. Possess a faster firing rate and stronger firepower than the machine gun.
Grenade: You can hold up to 15 of these. Hold down 1 to set it off (a few second before detonation) and let go to throw it.
Sensor Bomb: You can hold up to 15 of these. Press 1 to place it on the ground and it will detonate on any enemies that come near it.
Energy Shield: Pick up this power-up to bring up a barrier to protect your from enemy attacks temporarily.
Medpack: Pick these up to replenish your health if you've taken damage.
Of course, this isn't complete without the Arwing, Landmaster, and Blue Marine. If you run into any of them nearby, just jump right into them to start using them. The Arwing would play like Gradius with automatic scrolling forward, the Landmaster would be similar to Metal Slug, and the Blue Marine would be like the Arwing here but underwater - and moving around freely. All the familiar power-ups for the Arwing (rings, lasers, smart bombs, etc.) are retained as well.
Well, that's just the bare bones of it for now. I'll get into more of this later on.
