More than Mario Galaxy and New Super Mario Bros? Because it bugs me, no one really likes that game much outside of hardcore Mario fans, and the tropical themes getting brought back in every grrr spinoff are getting real old fast.
Is it because the Galaxy games and content are too 'serious' for stuff like the spinoffs?

NSMB and SMG had a great act on MKWii.
NSMBWii and SMG2 already have a big act on MK3DS, MvsDK4 and PM4, just looking at the pictures.

Those were just the Gamecube Games. The Mario spin-offs from Mario Kart Wii onward all seem to mention Galaxy in some way (They had Gateway Galaxy in Winter Olympics... not to mention Mario's Star Spin)

Well, I guess Piantas were a well received new species and the setting is pretty nifty and fits the unvierse quite well.
And it's easier to explain.
