How many characters total in the Mushroom World...

Greater Mario series/universe? I was bored and looking at the page for Loads and Loads of characters on TV Tropes, then calculated about 900 entries on Mario Monsters and 1070 just listed as characters on Mario Wiki and and about 1007 enemies listed under the base category. No idea how many more can be added from the various categories (and maybe other lists, Donkey Kong characters are counted seperately)

Probably near impossible to calculate in any way, but my guess is roughly about maybe 50 named characters that appear in most games, and about 3000-5000 overall in the series in total.

Good job I never tried to make a list with info about each and every one, since I bet that'd be about half a million pages long.

I was working on a guide to every important or named Mario character. It was divided into three categories: Playable characters, supporting characters and bosses/villains.

I think it would be pretty difficult to do one. If you're taking certain games in count...and checking if two characters aren't the same one but retconned or just altered to modern ages...Nintendo has lots of explications to give.

No that's spacepope4u. He long since abandoned it. I was inspired to make my own guide in his honor.

I have my own ideas on this too by making up populations on certain cities by looking at real life cities as examples and also doing the same thing for buildings.
