Okay, so I was looking up info on SMG2 last year before it even came out, and I ended up finding this new video on it, which showcased the GobbleGut boss battle. The very first thing that crossed my mind was, "Whoa! 3D Fracktail!"

Considering how much of a shorty Jinx is, I almost thought that he WAS a type of Pikmin at one point.

All dragons in Mario games look pretty similar,...except maybe bone dragons, though bone tail looks similar to other dragons surprisingly enough.

Yeah, well the thing with GobbleGut and Fracktail is that they're both Chinese style dragons, and they both attack in the exact same way.

Yeah the Mario series has never been very imaginative with dragons.
Think of:
-Czar dragon
-Blargg (SMW)
-Bahamutt
-etc.

Blargg is the most epic lava dragon of imaginitiveness ever though. It is kind of original.

I imagine all the dragons we've seen in Mario's world are based on the same thing.

The connection between Jynx and Pikmin is pretty dang uncanny though. Is this some sort of Japanese mythological thing that we don't know about?

Maybe Frack-tail is a part of a Dragon Race in his Sub-universe, and GobbleGut is a part of the Mushroom Universe equivalent.
